When i use something in the gym like the Bench press machines i wipe it down afterwards and before using it.....

i mean is it so hard at all ? answer : Noooooooooooooooo!!! , yet some guys just get up not wiping it , their body sweat is all over it ( GROSS ) !

The one's that leaves weights all over the place is ....ugh the most frickin annoying people of all " EFFIN weights all over the place " they just leave it there then hit the showers , then leave the gym. WTF, i help out the staff of the gym the best i can by putting the weights back myself.

Seriously.... some people can lift heavy, but can't seem to have the strength to put the weights back...........is this effin amateur hour at the gym ? .....

I agree as have on many occasions seen guys and girls of relatively small stature struggle to try and pick up the meatheads weights left lying about!

My worst pet peeve. I wipe down after I'm done. I nearly always have to wipe down before I start since so many people are just completely irresponsible. But, You can't go through life being irresponsible and ultimately stay a winner. If history has taught us anything, it's that Karma will get them somehow at some point. icon_biggrin.gif

In addition to that, why would anyone EVER wear cologne or perfume to a gym? Or spray air "freshener" or use noxious cleaning solvents in the gym, especially in the cardio area. I've experienced severe lung-burn during and after a cardio workout after the cleaning person comes through while I'm on the machines. When severe it can last a few days. Many gyms are seething pits of toxicity. I try to go to gyms with proper ventilation and spacious rooms to reduce these affects.

If I owned a gym, the rules would include:

    No toxic cleaning chemicals
    No Fragrance of any kind
Either you wipe down after yourself or you're out
If you drop the weights, you're out.

These rules exist in most gyms, but violations are ignored in all cases. I've been using gyms for 20 years and I've never seen a rule of etiquette enforced. So, the ultimate question is, what is wrong with gym management?

Or what about the people who obnoxiously slam the weights every time they use them? I'm not talking about the people who are fatigued and need to put it down immediately I mean the ones who like to do it intentionally to show off how much weight they're lifting icon_evil.gif

A member at the gym I go to lost part of a finger a few days ago after crushing it . He caught it between his dumbell & one someone had left on the floor when he'd finished .
Hasn't made any difference, still weights& bars all over the place.

It's called home training. Your momma should have taught you if you make a mess, you clean it up. If you take something, you put it back. Whatever happened to home training?

I've seen all that and more. Just today a guy was doing dumbbell rows and he had to move the bench parallel in front of the mirror and dumbbell racks about 2 feet away. Anyone needing to get or replace dumbbells would have negotiate around the idiot. What he also did is place about 5 dumbbells on top of the bench. Maybe some of you might disagree, but it wears the bench material.

I was doing flys nearby and was thinking about this idiot. But I caught myself realizing I'm not going to save the problems of the world, got back to the music from my iPhone and decided just to focus on me, no one else. But I hoped he was still there when I needed to replace my dumbbells. He wasn't.

Dave and I have been griping about this at our gym a lot lately. We're going to start chasing down people who don't wipe in particular...

    It's so freakin' annoying. icon_mad.gif

They're not inconsiderate. They're just doing what their trainers told them to do - work till failure.
Only they're taking failure to a whole new level.

What about the people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom and then go back to the weight room?
There should be a special place in hell for them.

I agree with you 100%; it drives me insane when people do not pick up after themselves, there are times that I will pick up the weights and put them back where they belong. It may sound like OCD but to me it is just the right thing to do.

Actually, if they were self-serving, they'd put the weights back on the shelf in hopes that they can find them easily next time they're in the gym.

I can believe they're lazy, but not self-serving.
