Has anybody seen the last concert both queen and adam did?
    Absolutely stunning.

Brian was perfect as usual and added to Adam's vocals was incredible! (and he is really hot).

Like it? Didn't like it? icon_smile.gif

Warning: plz no stupid comments like "queen is dead" or "adam is such a f*ggot" like i've seen before. Just respectful comments. Thx ;)

    thanks for posting this...
No one can replace Freddy Mercury (he was one of a kind) but Adam Lambert is probably the best guy alive to fill that void. His voice and personality are a lot like Mercury's -- he sounds great with Queen.

    i agree 100% with u.
No one will replace Freddie and no one is trying to. It's just a show and i think Lambert has one of the most powerful and great voices of the current industry and probably all time.

    Great show and rendition!

Yeah I agree with everyone thanking you for posting this. I did not watch the entire concert clip, but I watched the Bohemian Rhapsody clip. What a special tribute to an amazing artist! icon_biggrin.gif

Haven't seen it. I think it's a great match, or at least as good as you're going to get short of FM himself.

Good to hear, after Adam's new album completely bombed it's good to know he still has work.

I really wish he worked harder, or maybe went a different approach for his latest album. Gahhh! It's horrendous, in saying that. His first album was good, but he just picked weak singles. So I don't know.

i think his new cd is good but the first one was better. The problem, as u say, is they always choose the wrong songs to release and that damages the whole cd since people then think the rest of the cd is crap, lol.

Yeah, I don't think there are any single worthy songs of his new album though, they're all shit haha.

My dad was huge Queen fan, he saw them with Freddie 7x. He died in a car crash when I was a kid, I don't remember him very well, so I've used his record collection to fill the void, to get to know him better...maybe it's stupid, I don't know... that's how I got into Queen.

I saw Queen (well, what's left of it) with Paul Rodgers in Frankfurt in 2005 and then again in Munich in 2008 during Rock the Cosmos Tour and they were great. I was a bit sceptical when I heard that they plan to do dates with Adam Lambert. My twin sis is a huge Glambert (or whatever), I like his stuff but I wouldn't consider myself OTT fan.
I watched the live stream with her and he was amazing. Honestly, I was blown away. He got up there in front of 250k and stepped into the shoes of the greatest frontman of all time knowing that there are so many naysayers out there just waiting to tear him down. And that's really hard setlist. I'm impressed, hats off to him. And it's for a good cause, all money will go to charities helping orphans with AIDS... Adam Lambert doesn't get enough recognition.

I think that his new album is really good and the critics seem to agree, he got some amazing reviews, his album is one of the highest rated mainstream albums of the year. Singles aren't great in this era...but they aren't bad, by any means. We all know that his label must choose ˝safe˝ songs and we all know why. US radio isn't exactly LGBT friendly. Lambert is not the only one who doesn't get proper airplay. Just wait and see what's gonna happen to Frank Ocean (really good blog http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2012/07/04/156261612/a-close-look-at-frank-oceans-coming-out-letter?sc=tw&cc=share)
Rolling Stone review - they rarely give 4 stars for pop albums http://www.rollingstone.com/music/albumreviews/trespassing-20120515
˝So here's the great pop album everybody was hoping Adam Lambert would make, ever since he ran wild on American Idol three years ago. It wasn't just Glambert's dynamite-with-a-laser-beam voice that got him into our national knickers: It was his warmth, his humor, his burlesque bravado. His 2010 debut, For Your Entertainment, was a typical Idol quickie – decent, but it needed more personality. Trespassing delivers, with a mix of tinsel disco-club sleaze and leather-boy love ballads. While he excels in a radio cheddar bomb like "Naked Love," he gets deeper in slow jams like "Underneath" and "Outlaws of Love." But all over Trespassing, Glambert sings everything like Zeus in a thong

I actually like his new album better than the first one. There are at least 4 songs I like, and are my workout mix.

MuchoMasQueMusculo saidHym...I don't know. I like Adam but I don't like his rendition of Queen's songs. There's a frilliness to his voice that doesn't capture the rock essence that Queen's songs had. It's hard to put into words, I like Adam's songs when he sings his style of music that is his. I'm not knocking him.

This guy was once posted on the forums. His name is Marc Martel. He sounds so much like Freddie. I'm not sure if I'm describing it well enough but he has the smoky, raspy, edgy voice that I associate with Queen's songs. Granted, he basically sounds identical to Freddie so it's nothing original. Personally I like hearing it better:

Martel is one of 4 singers in Queen Extravaganza, official tribute band http://www.queenextravaganza.com/ , they are doing North American tour this summer, I've watched yt vids and they sound great, if you are into tribute bands, of course...
Yes, he sounds so much like Freddie, he even looks like Freddie a little bit (it kinda creeps me out) and that's why it would be disrespectful to Freddie to put him in Queen, it's like saying ˝hey Fred, you are not so special, here's your replacement˝. With Martel on the vocal duty Queen would become its own tribute band. He does great job with songs like Somebody To Love, but he can't pull off rockier stuff, that's why Extravaganza has Yvan Pedneault (he was part of We Will Rock You lineup) and Jeff Scott Soto (Trans Siberian Orchestra). They have female vocalist too, Jennifer Espinoza, and she's great... Lambert has range, technique and unique tone, he can work the stage and he is controversial, kinda like Freddie... His voice isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's perfectly alright...And at the end of the day this thing with Lambert isn't permanent solution (only 6 shows sheduled - Kiev, Moscow, festival in Poland tonight and 3 London dates), they are just having some fun and it's fun to watch. Queen died with Freddie 20 years ago and Bri and Rog are old, let them enjoy, they've earned the right... Lambert is no Freddie, not even close, but he is really talented, he's a fighter and I hope he'll get accolades he deserves. Coming out has hindered his career, there's no doubt about it and that is sad. He's underdog and I'm rooting for him. I'm aware that some (many) people have issues with him but his potential success makes things easier for next talented gay kid.

leopold22, hands down to you. I exactly feel the same way as you do. I mean Adam is not replacing or trying to imitate Freddie, he is just singing their songs with his own style. you can or can't like it but you should never say "He didn't sound like Freddie" cause it's not the intention.

I always liked him but now I think I'm becoming a fan of this guy cause he's not only really talented and great live performer but also, as you said, a real fighter.
It's not easy to be Queen's frontman knowing everyone was hating on him and saying he is gross.
I'm not saying that just because he is gay then the whole gay community should support him cause people have the right to not like his music but some from the gay community say horrible stuff that they even sound homophobic so yes, I think he should get so much recognition.

Luckily, in the rest of the world, he is not that criticised as in his own country. Several countries in Europe, Asia, South America and australia like him a lot and maybe cause they are more open to extravagant gay personalities (not trying to offend anyone with this). icon_smile.gif

    @leopold22, totally agree.

Adam is not trying to be Freddie, however he does embody Freddie's spirit.

Adam is a great performer in his own right, and deserves credit for his own skills.

I think he does a great job with Queen songs.

all of the above... Adam kinda 'over sings' everything. The Under Pressure clip is HORRIBLE!!! I saw Queen several times in the 70ies, and Bowie like 12 times... The clip of Marc Martel is almost creepy he is so much like FM. Personally I thought he would have been a better choice to front Queen, especially considering they are simply trying to resurrect the old Queen.
AL is fairly mediocre at best. Although he seems to flaunt his talent as if he were Bowie or Mercury. He's not... IMO... anyway.

Nobody is trying to imitate Mercruy for god's sake, I wish people would get well informed... icon_rolleyes.gif
Wether you like his rendition or not, it's incredible you say it's "mediocre" when I'm sure you are not a singer and definitely don't have such powerful voice (again, whether you like it or not).
