Happy 4th! I'm not doing anything special today, just watching the Gidget marathon on Antenna TV. I might see fireworks if they ever do more than have parades by the beach on the fourth of July; maybe this year they will. Still it's the principle of the date and really a day to be thankful for that freedom. I just read more troops are being sent to Afghanistan. Prayers go out to them also on this day. Peace.

My nephew is in the reserves, and he said he may be sent over there soon (just got off the phone with him two minutes ago).

I hate how NOT wanting them to go always seems to spark political argument; however, this endless war is simply that: endless.icon_rolleyes.gif

Regardless of what's going on today, I hope everyone can relax, kick back, and have a cold one icon_biggrin.gif

I stayed in inside today. We broke a record for July 4 here today of 101 and then heavy storms late afternoon. I shouldn't complain because a lot of people in the area do not have electricity, but dammit the cable is out!

Just boated back from Cablevision billionaire John Dolan's fireworks display in Oyster Bay, which rivals Macys. Was pretty iffy given the weather - thunderstorms as late as 6:00pm - but we lucked out.
