Does anyone know a good university to go to for writing and/or acting? I'm having trouble finding a good one in the US.

Honestly, I don't know. But one thing I do know is there are high quality documentaries on almost every career field you can imagine. In those documentaries, they feature graduates from the top universities in those fields.

That's how I found out which university I'd need to attend to pursue a career in aviation (which I've already accomplished), or geology (UofArizona), or physics (MIT)...if I ever decide to change careers again.

If you go to the US News World Report website it ranks colleges and universities, and then it ranks them by major (creative writing and literature)

The University of Wisconsin Madison has one of the best creative writing Master's programs in the country. Good luck getting in, though! icon_neutral.gif

There are lots of good universities with acting programs (e.g., Northwestern) . But if you are dying to be an actor, and know that you just have to do it,consider going to an acting school:
American Academy of Dramatic Arts; Juliard; Goodman School of Theatre; Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (England).
If you have an undergraduate degree with acting - consider MFA/postgraduate programs at Yale and the Actors Studio.

I saw him at NYU. He likes to smoke outside the Tisch building.

He decided to turn down his admission because he didn't have enough time or something. Couple thousand applicants only like 50 are accepted.

Another route would be to find an actor you really admire, and find out where he/she went to school & got started. Or, at least where he/she went before dropping out to work full time...

Well I want to major in the writing and do the acting on the side. I checked some of these places out and it's insane, only like 20 people get in out of thousands. I'll never get into one of those high end places! I'll keep looking through them but thanks for the links and help!
