Although this is meant to be a somewhat humorous thread, I do think it
worthwhile to make mention of the permanent departure of Southbeach1500
from RJ. His political input here on RJ was substantial. Some loved the fact his led the charge on the right....there are others here, that just celebrate his
    departure with "good riddance" .

Since I never had a nasty personal moment with SB, I did want to point out that
he really did have a very reasonable personal side. I ask him questions, we
had some personal interaciton. I asked him to vote for several candidates I was supporting for MOTD (and he did). While I disagreed with some of his political views.....
(well like 99.5%) of it, none of it was personal.

His arguments with Bob (Art_Deco) were legendary and his "catfish" pictures
were over the top (but I privately thought they were funny). His departure had nothing to do with his right wing politics and whether you agreed or disagreed
with his views, he will be missed. Let me say, while I think he went way overboard with his politics, he did make some very good points occasionally.
A mix of opinions are what makes this site stronger and ... better.

Good luck to you SB, you will be missed here...

I think you need to change the thread title, which, however intended, is in poor taste.

How exactly do you know it's permanent? I think most of the permanent departures result from member decisions and most administrator bannings are temporary. Is there other info you are aware of?

Not hardly. If anything it's a very positive thread about someone who was a very viable part of this site. Members can chime in and say how they feel.

That's better. I was referring only to the title. I thought the guy had died.

OMG.. I wouldn't have ever done a thread and used the word "humorous" in it if the person had died.. that would be in bad taste.

I did the same thing as here when Chuckystud was removed from the site.
Chucky was allowed to return eventually. I don't think thats the plan here.

So does anyone know what got him removed? I honestly wasn't sure he even HAD been removed, thought he might have just put himself on Hidden, or gotten a temporary suspension.

The last thing I saw him embroiled in was some comments about an upcoming Fort Lauderdale meet-up, as usual aimed at me. But then some of his friends were doing the same thing (got most of them on Ignore, only see them when quoted), and Admin did nothing to them. So his removal, if it really is, remains a mystery to me.

Unlike other members of the conservaposse, SouthBeach Jane had no redeeming qualities.

She was a bitter queen biotche who went out of her way to dig up and post personal information about RJ members and repeatedly post nude pictures of RJ members, with the sole intent on embarrassing said members.

Although I have respectfully (hopefully) disagreed with other conservaposse members on their political viewpoints; I could always find good points about them on other threads.

Southbeach Jane posted on NO other threads here; except for the political ones.

I still suspect that she was not a real person; that she was a made up bot by the GOP/TEAbaggers.

As i said on another thread" "Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish" icon_exclaim.gif

    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I regret having defended his return the last time. I will not make that mistake again.

Like when a sociopath meets an untimely demise in prison, few tears are shed by those who are left with the memory of a self-centered asshat. The community is better, more civil, and stronger without him.

    May he never return.

And, even a thread in "poor taste" is more taste than SB deserves. I hope this thread gets deleted and that SB disappears forever. Let all mention of that troll be removed from memory.

Don't get me wrong. I do not particularly like SB any more than you do, but I think announcing the funeral of someone who is (presumably) still alive is a little too morbid. In any case, everyone knows that, like some brassy haired zombie, he will return.

This thread displays the basic goodness of HK.

To start a laudatory thread about such a vile human POS as 99.4% of us view southbitch to be takes a kind, generous soul.

Reading SB's topics always reminded me of those tabloids we'd see in the Safeway.

    Like this,

'(political figure) cuts toenails! How is THIS downsizing government? SHOCKING!!!' icon_lol.gif

Then there was the reverse-the-slant-of-the-topic gambit after others had posted, making them appear to agree to the new title/info when they originally didn't. icon_lol.gif That was when I got rather POed with him for awhile.

Again, I think there's a lesson here, considering the others that have been deleted. We've all got to tone it down with the attacks.

I thought he just laid low because his personal life took precedence. That does happen, you know.

Not at all. Southbeach brought an interesting and often-times entertaining element to this site. No, he didn't sit well with everybody, but that's just too bad. That's why we have a BLOCK function. Those too thin-skinned or not wanting to read his posts have an option.

We aren't in disagreement, thus the point for this thread..

I just noticed this thread has been viewed almost 5,000 times with 20 responses.. I think thats amazing, I thought it was in error!

I thought it certainly a possibility, but why not say something upon taking a leave of absence? SB does have his fans & supporters, mainly the conservaposse, you'd think they deserved some announcement. Unless he e-mailed them privately. icon_question.gif

You make a false argument, that opposition to SB was entirely about valid differences of opinion. It was that but much more, on a very personal level of ad hominem attacks he made, that others in this thread have related, and underhanded tricks like meninlove have mentioned.

As for myself, however, you notice that I haven't piled on, and haven't gloated or claimed a victory over my worst critic here. We swim with sharks in these online social sites, I've been doing it for 25 years. Any of us could be the next one dragged under and never seen again, including me. More than a case of just desserts, I view SB's departure as a cautionary tale for us all.
