I'm gay, what do I do now?

So I just accepted the fact that I'm gay. Ive been gay for 10 years now and I finally want to get on with my life. The thing is, not only do I not know any gay guys, the thought of going out is really new and kinda nerve-racking..

Where do I start? Is it weird to go to a gay bar alone? I don't even know if that's the smartest/best way to do this... I don't know what to do or how to do it. I just know that I'm ready. Any advice or experiences is greatly appreciated! This may all be a little stupid but I really don't know where to start.

I live in Toronto by the way, if you know anywhere here for a newbie that would be great!

    Thanks.

    Addition:

Haha thanks everyone, I really wasn't expecting a huge crowd to answer back this quickly. I appreciate this icon_smile.gif Liking the sense of humor also!

You don't need to do anything. Just go with your heart, and brain. Be the best you could be and do things that make you happy. Being gay is very tough for a lot of people. Gay bars and sex clubs are bad places to meet guys since it is based on sex and alcohol. Join a local group that has your interests like biking, camping, sports, wine tasting....

    Welcome to the club!
Add a small teacup chihuahua to your shopping list!

I started my homo related experiences with a nifty little website called Manhunt. I'm sure there are a multitude of other possibilities to meet gay guys. However, I was able to come across at least 2 genuine men on that site who introduced me to different aspects of gay life that I hadn't know before.

If you go that route... just be safe, always use a condom, and keep your breath minty fresh.

i dunno. just be yourself. you (presumably) had an identity before you came out....continue to do that.

if you're really horny do the mobile app/online website thing. no matter how horny i am, that doesn't really appeal to me...but it is a viable option if you are safe.

He's just kidding. Don't do that unless you want an easy way to get an STD

I'm not a cool gay either, don't feel bad. I got rid of Grindr. I got sick of people spelling fuck wrong, and 60 year old guys asking if I wanted a blowjob. I can imagine that it WOULD not feel good.

Meetup. Seek a Gay Single Men's group. Do social stuff. Meet hot men. Fuck. Repeat until you find "The One" (or not).

Ah youth, wasted on the young!
Seriously though, relaaax.... You've got a looong time to be gay. Like, ummm the rest of your life.

Remember to have people be interested in you, be interested in others. And don't be in such a rush to hook up. There will be plenty of time for that too icon_smile.gif

Come on! They have probably 45 years experience, at least, in marinating the tube steak! Just tell them to take their dentures out and it isn't a problem.icon_eek.gif

    Lord. . . I apologize.

    On a serious note,

Relax and be yourself. Google gay places and organizations in Toronto. There seems to be a large community there.

Then pick those organizations or places that seem like they would be comfortable.

This is also where a fag hag might come in handy as well. She can go with you and make the situation less intimidating.

Watch a few gay movies, then some gay porns, then mimic what you can in your real life... icon_twisted.gificon_biggrin.gif
