I was at a gay retreat CMG in LA recently and tried a meditation class. It was amazing the visuals and feelings the opposing sound waves give you. We just got up to level 12 but I just ordered level 21. My visuals were pretty much clouds in the purple range oscillating and opening. And a sense of being out of body but not quite totally yet.

Here is more information if you want to try out. You have to sign up and then they send you a CD but it is the same piece that they let you download. Sort of tricky how to download etc.

I was at a weekend camp with a group called CMG. California Men's Gathering (Spiritual). One of the instructors there had headphones set up in a meditation circle. He took some classes in Virginia from a guy that developed a groundbreaking study that I think the government or top scientists use to activate and balance the brain using opposing sound waves. So during the hour long session we got to stage 12 on a scale or 10 through 30 or so. Level 10 use feel a sense of relaxation and you get visual signals of what the brain is hearing. Sort of like purple or blue lights occillating like clouds. Then we did another cd with sound waves that took us to a level 12. Some people experienced floating on clouds and loss of sense of a body and some people with body pains loss all sense of pain. It was sort of like a sound that a space ships would make. The guy on the dvd narrates and takes you on a journey - sort of out of body. Level 20 and up supposedly you can begin to travel out of body. But I haven't experienced that yet. You can download a sample from the hemi-sync site. It is a short version I think to level 10 but you can check it out. Brad
Once you download and sign up. You can listen to the file in ITunes or use their Program.

Interesting concept. Sound perception but specifically music perception -such a perplexing mystery. This company is making a fortune off things we know so little about. GENIUS>

That sounds amazing!!! I want to try it! I've had accupuncture done on me and had meditation music, aroma & light therapy (my faves) as I lay trying to connect with EVERYTHING>Myself... I could use that again, right now! icon_biggrin.gif

Yes, I do it sometimes. You find many music clips on the net. But use only STEREO headphones.
    Interesting changes of mood, but
not as strong as a sirodhana oil therapy

The fact that people signed up and paid for this spiritual retreat invalidates the credibility of their opinions. Just like the opinions of people who paid the most to be in the front row of Madonna's concert have no credibility in their claims that it was omfglorious.

I tried a computer program that did this effect, calling them "binaural beats". The claim is that they can train the brainwaves to increase or reduce frequency by playing it into your ears.

It's something that can't be proven, which is why it's not well known.

I was taking it to hopefully put myself to sleep when I wanted to. I felt very relaxed with some of them. A similar effect can be had by playing relaxing music though. I felt like the sounds were just something for my brain to focus on instead of its speeding thoughts.

I tried its opposite function too, to elevate mood and brain activity. I felt no change in this, however.

We are currently working on it as we speak. There's so much we know, but much more that we don't know about how the brain is decoding sound. One day my work will pay off just a little bit.

I wear headphones 8 hours a day. The last thing I'll be able to do is "relax" while wearing them after work, too. icon_lol.gif

Yeah I first heard of Robert Monroe and the Monroe Institute a few years ago. Robert was the first to do the hemisync thing after he started having out of body experiences. I listened to his Gateway program where Robert's voice guides you on the track to visualize certain things and breath.

The second time I listened to it I felt all these vibrations around my whole body. It felt like some sort of energy sort of like when you have your hand just above the surface of a tv screen. It gets weirder lol. After a few minutes of that it felt like a person as light as air sitting on my belly as I lay on my back. I then felt what felt like hands holding my legs. Again the pressure was light as air but it was enough that I could feel it. It was as if a spirit was holding me down to keep me from having an out of body experience! They were keeping me from the thing I wanted so bad lol.

That was in 2006 and I only felt the vibrations 1 more time after that. I never did have the out of body experience but I still listen to the hemi-sync tracks. They help me sleep and have dreams mostly.

Stereo headphones do not exist. ;-) Stereo means sound comes from the front, left, and right.

I think my brother used to do this. Sounds interesting!

    Lovely!

    Here's the question:

Is there a difference between the astral body, the etheric body, and the aura?

And have you figured out how quantum physics factors into all of this?

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI finally received the CDs that were provided in the link that the OP posted.

It took over two months to get the CD. They wind up sending me two of the same one.

I tried listening to them but not sure if did anything. I'll try again at some point but if I don't experience anything Immuh donate them toward the end of the week.

Yeah I got the short Cd they send for free. I think doing it without a group situation is different. I tend to just fall asleep whereas in the group everyone tried their hardest to experience lights and intense feelings while listening to the sounds. It was funny how almost all saw the same images in their heads. So it does work. My friend bought the advanced CDs and he noticed also that in a non-group atmosphere you don't experience the same thing. I'll give the cd a try myself and get back.

Note that some people in the group that had pain had lost pain in their back. Others found great peace of mind, etc.

this is going to sound crazy but basically when you astral project, the quantum physic of our 3 dimensional universe does not apply in the 4th dimension, there is no gravity or, here and there, everything exist in a single point in time/space, physical law does not exist. and the 4th dimension is compose completely of thought, anything u think happens in a flash.

ummm well yes i think there is a different, the aura is the energy field around every living thing, actually around everything, cause everything has an aura. the astral body and the etheric body are the same, it is a 4th dimensional form made from the element ether, that exist in a 4th dimensional time space point. its not our spirit or souls just a piece of our consciousness. its basically a double of our physical body.
