I think most people do that are regular forum posters. As far as replies, I usually cut off a back and forth exchange with someone after a few posts. Two or three or four people can quickly takeover a thread and make it useless for everyone else if their conversation is going on too long and with too many posts in a row.

In most threads it is my goal to have a conversation with other posters, so of course I check if anybody has replied to my post...
    repeatedly
    all day long
    into the night
    the following day

Yes. Unless it has been talked about ad nauseum.

It depends, if I have time to go back and check.... I usually smile when someone agreed, quoted and gave a shout out. I will take a look at that person profile. If the quote wasn't anything big, I'd leave it alone. If someone is being mean or nasty or very racist in general, depending on the context, I will report it to admin.

Yeah I go back because its fun and intriquing to read others post, or see others images/videos. Sometimes its fun to read the flame wars but then it reaches an annoying point when it becomes futile. Then you have to start ignoring certain folks and jump onto a new thread. Yeah many of us guys with nothing else to do use RJ to make up for our boring social lives or lack there of. Some try to deny it, but everyone wants some form of attention. Guys on RJ who reply a lot are super eager to "go back" to see if there are any more replies. icon_cool.gif As for me, if I was employed, had a bf, had a large friend/social group I could hang out with every other day... oh this account would only be used for reading fitness tips.

You mean like the ones where someone is saying something on 10th page that is nearly identical to something someone said on the first or second?

Sometimes I do, if it's a topic of particular interest.
I love to read other guys' opinions.
    I like having a conversation.

But, usually, I post my opinion and forget about it.

Yes, most of the time I check. I stop checking after a while, so if someone posts a reply very late, then I'm not likely to see it. What's the point in posting if there isn't going to be any back-and-forth.

If its a topic that's important to me I will but usually I don't. As you might guess, this thread would fall under the latter category.

I used to post and check for responses after posting daily... even got butt hurt... then after asking RJ members and being a n00b about it, I realized how dumb I sounded to myself... then only checked my last post if someone had responded to me thereafter: within the life of the thread on the main page. After the thread dies or sleeps, I usually just go over the happenings in the threads of the day. Lately, a lot of dumb topics have been unworthy of posting on. I also have favorite posters whom I look for; who will post interesting stuff I look forward to reading... It looks like you got a couple of their bites already. icon_biggrin.gif
