I know he was upset at what he perceived as unjust treatment by RJ Admin. And I guess if I had a such a strong perception of injustice toward me, I might just decide to bag it, too.

You know, folks, if you don't like a thread, you don't have to read it. If you don't like a member, you can block him. If politics isn't your thing, stay out of the political forum. The Admins split politics from the News to make it easier.

    Otherwise, there's always...

This thread made me cry and throw a temper tantrum, so I'm gonna block you and wait for someone to quote you so I can unleash all my e-fury on you and get banned!

Yes, it appears he is gone.

One thing about ignoring someone's posts, there really should be a way to have the posts blocked of those who quote the person on ignore.

Is it that big a deal? Can't people just skip over a quote? You see the person's name and don't read it.

Except when, as is the case tonight with a few threads, what started out as decent threads are completely derailed.

Catfish may just be busy - - truly busier than ever - - after his business information, photos, web site, location, pricing and particulars were posted last week. Advertising can be very beneficial. I'm very serious here and I'm willing to bet there is a whole new audience out there who never knew about him before. CF (or WranglerTX) could be having his phone ringing off the hook with a number of new clients.

Total agreement. He's hott and has what to offer, and there would be a market for him anywhere.
I assume that he knows how to keep a low verbal profile on political subjects with clients. Only if not I would be very disappointed in him.

The problem with Ignore is that it's really only satisfactory if you want to avoid disliked posts by a particular individual, of a mostly political nature. What Ignore doesn't do well is stop personal attacks on other members, especially from the stalkers.

You may not see attacks being made on you, but everyone else reads them. And even you see them, when they get quoted.

Which leaves your reputation defenseless against these ad hominem attacks. And when they become as relentless as they've been against me, virtually daily by a small group here, other members begin to assume they're valid and believe them.

With the result that you yourself get blocked by others, and your posts widely disregarded, your readership down to almost nothing, so that you might as well not be participating here. Which of course is the goal of that small group whom we all know about, to neutralize & remove any criticism of their political views.

So no, Ignore does not work for that kind of sustained & coordinated assault against a member. What might help is better enforcement of TOU.

BTW, when someone said Catfish5 was back I checked his profile yesterday, July 7. Saw that he had been online that same day, but had not posted to a thread since July 3, 4 days earlier.

That suggested to me that although his account had been reactivated by Admin, he was just lurking, possibly stung by the experience of being suspended. If he has now gone away by his own choice it wouldn't surprise me.

The question is whether he's merely made himself hidden, or has deleted his account for good. I think there's a way to distinguish that, but I forget how I was told to do it. Anyone know how?

No you're not very serious here. I believe the word you're looking to describe your comments is "factitious."

Actually the posting of Catfish5's line of work and pics from another site was done to discredit him, mock him, and encourage condemnation of him for maximum effect.

Who was the perpetrator, and what happened to him as a consequence? Is this what Jockbod48 is referencing, and to which creature replied?

Actually, I'm being very serious. I never interfere with a man's business or how he makes bank (so long as it is legal). My feeling is this: When something is done with style and panache - - it's all good.

I knew a woman in that profession. She did well for herself and had just a select number of clients. She lived beautifully, was well read, fastidiously clean, healthy, beautiful, smart, attractive and just generally a good person to know. She finally settled down with one man in a gorgeous townhouse she had paid for herself. She had enough money for a sweet retirement - at 43. I admired her.

BTW - Creature - not fair to gainsay me. You've done that enough around here with others. The best thing you can do is think about your negativity, before posting.

Were there any negative reactions from CF?
Posting the photos as it was done was totally inappropriate and apparently hostile. But at the same time rather flattering considering that he isn't ashamed of his body and how he chooses to spend his time. I figured that the intentions of the poster backfired.

*directed at no particular poster, but rather everyone in general*
I think an exercise in awareness is to place yourself in the same position.

If someone posted your place of employment and your pic from another site or place of work etc with hostile intent and someone else said it generated more business for you, how would you feel?

Well, I just got told what happened to Catfish.

    I must say it stinks.

I am shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, that RJ Admins allowed that and didnt ban the perpetrator for LIFE.

Oh I am almost beside myself!

That is truly, truly unfair to Catfish.

oh I AM just beside myself.

    REALLY!!!!

what a dirty rotten thing for RJ to allow.

seriously what are the admins thinking!?!?!?!?!?!

I am disgusted. And nothing was done. REALLY????

I totally understand Catfish's feelings now!

well, I'm writing the Admins. I cant be a member here in good conscience and not say something to the Admins. This was just plain wrong and, as I said, the perpetrator should be banned for life, IMO. This is just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

You may be jumping to conclusions here. His "secret" wasn't a secret. His "professional" photos and links have been posted before. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying if it bothered him that much, he probably would have left long ago.

Perhaps it was handled differently by the Admins previously.

Not as far as I know. The person who did it is the same person who has done it before. CF would have to explain his reasons for leaving if he wanted to. He's very hot tempered. I would guess that he'll be back once he's had a chance to cool off.

Well, the behavior of the perpetrator shouldnt be allowed. Perhaps the Admins have turned a deaf ear over and over and Catfish just finally snapped at the injustice. I dont think the perpetrator's behavior should be tolerated at all. That's bullshit! I dont care what temperature Catfish's temper is. He shouldnt have to tolerate this...not once....no member should have to.

When you're a sole proprietor and you are looking for new clients, you may choose to advertise. If you advertise on the world wide web, and you put yourself onto a universally known website - shown all over the world, your aim is to drive clients to your business. Putting a profile together describing your business - with 23 professionally done full size color photos - is what you do to create your portfolio. You want that phone to ring. The more clients you have, the bigger your bank account. Nothing wrong with that, especially when it is all done with style and professionalism. One thing though.........you can't put your business on a global web site and cherry pick who will see it. It's out there for the whole world to see.
