I'm probably going to buy it anyways...but I was kinda hoping someone else would release a quad core too.

The nexus has no external hardrive, and to me if it's gonna have a quad core I might as well put a ton of shit on it.

For 200 bucks tho..cannot go wrong.

I was set on getting a 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for $250. But the Nexus tablet isn't too bad either. My only hesitations about the Nexus are:

    - No SD card slot
    - No rear camera

But redeeming features over the Galaxy Tab..

    - Quad core, 16GB, for $250
    - IPS panel
    - Standard micro USB interface
    - NFC capable
    - Android Jelly Bean

So yeah, it's a bargain priced tablet with premium features. I think I can live without the SD slot. I don't plan on using the tablet as my primary mobile device anyways. Just something for web surfing on the couch, or something to take on vacation instead of my laptop.

But I'm going to wait for the Windows 8 tablets to come out. If the Pro models have a decent price point and have a decent battery life, I might go for it.

That was my exact hesitation. I don't have a issue spending a little more money to get something that won't become obsolete in a few months...(hence kindle fire). However, I cannot find any articles about more tablets falling in line with the quad core which to me is a huge attraction.

I too have been considering the 7' Samsung Galaxy 2 as a replacement for my netbook. I did learn that you can interface w/ USB but it requires a separate adapter. I wasn't real keen on the way it displays some web pages however, so maybe the Nexus is worth a look.
