I swear, as soon as I saw the thread title and without going in yet I KNEW it was going to be this commercial. Because this is one my absolutely all time favorite commercials EVER. It will usually get tears out of me.

I always thought this PSA was pretty straightforward. Oh, how I have days I wish I could do this!

There's another one but I couldn't find it. It's an OnStar (or other similar service) commercial that shows you why you need their product or you could die! There's an accident, and the persons cell phone is flying around in slow motion as an accident happens. And so OnStar notifies authorities that you've had an accident icon_smile.gif

Just reposted that to my FB.

I will tweet it out too sometime when it is timely but seatbelt compliance is GENERALLY good here.

Never saw this before. Naturally I expected the pantomimed accident, but not the rest (which I won't give away).

I wanted a friend in Germany to see this, but he cant.

Is there a way for him to see it in Germany?

Wow. I haven't seen that in a while. I don't know how effective it was, but it sure was iconic.

A worthy ad, but you'd think that the time for seat belt psa's would be unnecessary by now.

Amazing commercial. I don't get how people fail to not use a seat belt though. I'm uncomfortable if I'm not wearing one.

WhyWhySee saidA lot of emotion raced through my mind when I watched this.
My 15 year old cousin was thrown from a vehicle 2 weeks ago and died at the scene.
It's really sad when a death could have been so easily avoided.
I lost both my parents to a drunk driving accident when I was a child... they were wearing their seat belts, the car was crushed, and the drunk driver wasn't badly injured.

My brother-in-law was thrown from his car and killed when it ran off the road down a grassy embankment at highway speed. I saw the car, and the driver's seat, instrument panel and steering wheel were undamaged. If he'd been wearing his shoulder belt and not been ejected out the side window he would almost undoubtedly have survived. He was 28.

Sorry to hear that icon_sad.gif I didn't mean that a seat belt will always save you, but in her case, she would not have been ejected from the car.
I've learned to talk about it over the years. In high school everyone always asked me about my parents... I just learned to talk less about the things that lead to this kind of conversation; but have made some peace with the facts of the matter. Mediums, especially visuals, tend to bring out those controlled emotions, but thankfully I still feel them. If it weren't for my pain inside I'd be dead inside... at least I know I know I loved them enough miss them this much in their wake. Thanks for your concern.
