Alright ..... how many of you guys have noticed the same things that I have

Nine times out of ten if I skip the gym on a certain day .... or blow it off
It's because I had sex the night before

I remember coaches back in High School telling us No Sex before a game
But I used to think that it was Bull sh*t
yet when I looked back at when I skipped the gym it was almost always the day after I had sex

YOU CRUISE YA- oh it's not that kind of topic. I'll never get to say it in an appropriate situation.

Not really actually... I feel exhausted right after sex, but I can still feel up to going to the gym. But yeah, I also heard the "no sex before a game" thing, so is there something to it?

It's because it is extra physical activity that you tend to not account for with regards to your micro-/meso-cycle, exercise periodization, and nutrient balance. Not only does semen have 5-7 calories that you just lose by virtue of mass having energy (Einstein's e=mc-squared), your body also secretes fructose and protein in semen. Then, if you consider how much of a workout even jacking off is for your arm versus 200-500 reps of body undulations if you are the top or 500 squats if you're a power bottom, that is a lot of physical activity that counts and people don't consider exercise. Sort of like moving furniture into your new place also counts as a total body lift workout.

That said, sex is often overly touted beyond any inherent merit for being a good workout--research shows it isn't THAT great--I'm sure it just depends on how into it you get. Most people don't require aerobic fitness positions to get off.

I am just the opposite. If I've had a good romp, I am good to go.

I'm not sure if you're doing it right or wrong, but I am absolutely intrigued.

I remember reading about a study someone did (on college basketball players, I think) that explored this... they claimed there was no change in performance at all when players did, or didn't have sex the night before. But there are factors that can go hand in hand with sex that could change things.. like if you stayed up late to have sex, and lost sleep.

Oh good point. I forgot to consider how most encounters have you up after midnight because apparently no one gets horny at a reasonable hour and will admit it.

Another factor to consider is if they sleep over afterwards. I personally never am able to sleep next to anyone so I always kick them out unless I am in pushover-mode. Anyone I seriously date from here on out won't get to the physical stage until I'M comfortable. If it's not serious, then be prepared to get the boot after sex.

If I have had 30 to 60 minutes to recoup after a romp, I am good to go at the gym. Sometimes I feel that the increased self-esteem of a good session actually makes my workouts better. And sometimes, I can be more focused on the workout and less about the hotties around me icon_smile.gif

If your body and mind are into working out, sex or no sex You go, Its all about will power and the drive to get there.

Hell I know I have the most intense workouts when I am hornier than hell. So i refrain from doing any of that before I workout. Either way I still go.

Interesting... I'll make sure to have sex after a workout and before my resting periods in the gym.

Your coach was on to something. ;-)

Sexual energy. Potent. Powerful. Pent up sexual energy if and when channeled well can be an incredibly creative force. Some people just expend it and waste it (hyperbole) on ... well, temporary, casual sexual release, with nothing to show for it but a disease or some other unwanted drama (worst case). While others channel it into art, music, exercise, and other creative endeavors.... learn to channel it, let it drive other passions, and you may discover aspects of your creative expression you never thought you could achieve. Ask a monk or nun. Seriously — we might experience something profound if we weren't always heeding the call of the libido.

    I agree with Terra here
    It's not that I'm tired
I just don't have the desire ..... I guess working out has something to do with sexual energy
When I am tapped out I just don't care as much

I totally admit that I am horny after I leave the gym.

I skip the gym if it is a nice day, and who wants to be iside on a warm sunny day? Except for sex; of course, which could be done outside also. icon_lol.gif

I don't think so. Exercise increases testosterone. Most people get more energized after exercise and feel more horny. On the other hand, releasing your sexual energy releases prolactin and counteracts dopamine (sexual arousal), leading to relaxation and decreased testosterone in men. Less testosterone and dopamine, less sexual arousal & "energy". No energy... you might very unlikely be up for working out.

Solution: Have intense sexual workout sessions - LOL

There is a hottie whom I saw today with green trunks and an orange cut tank with some awesome tattoos near what I gather is his erogenous zone on his chest... I could smell/sense his horniness as he passed me by; if not maybe my own for his hot sweaty body... I also realized, when I flirt, it only happens for a fraction of a second. You either notice it or you don't. Think he did, otherwise I wouldn't have done it. icon_wink.gificon_twisted.gif His body reminds me of Coach Mike's... I wanted a trailer park pork fest so bad!!! Thank the RJ Gods for Clay's new buddy and my crash course in Southern Talkins.

Gq-based on the bod u get laid a lot doesn't look like you're a gym guy based on bod pic?? Dallas fan not sure what u are doing at the gym it looks like u must be working out the wrong way. If you go that much and actually do cardio and lift your bod would be much better sahpe-less talking more lifting. You only need 30-60 seconds max between repsicon_idea.gif

You both should try doing a solid routine with varied exercises, challenging your muscles and working on great form! My bod is far from perfect but I go 4-5 times a week and still get laid a lot.
ok now say some lame quip back. I am blunt honest.

Do I dare suggest that perhaps one has less of a need for the visual stimulation a gym environment provides were one, er, satisfied beforehand?
