Yes, I am and old enough to have been listening to it since the 80's.

Here's something new I've been hearing on Strangeways radio with vocals by Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb.

The Japanese Popstars' song with Robert Smith was probably one of the best 10 singles of last year.

There's more. Endo, Curiouser, and monochrome are three RJers with very good taste in music.

I was once very much into all that, but I've moved on to stuff like "Witchhouse" and more "neo-goth" type stuff, I still like some industrial though.

Good morning! Industrial, EBM, and synth-pop is pretty much all I listen to.

I got heavy into industrial when I was in college and a guy at the college radio station introduced me to Skinny Puppy and Front 242.

I mostly listen to synth and future-pop these days as I just grew tired of the growly vocals. It's cliche, but VNV is my favorite. At last count, I've seen them live 8 times, and I have a VNV tattoo on my forearm. I'm pretty much into everything on Metropolis and Dependent. mind.in.a.box is my other favorite band right now, though their last album wasn't their best effort. If you aren't familiar, check them out on youtube (Amnesia is their best song in my opinion).

I drag my boyfriend to industrial clubs (we don't fit in at all! though I bet I know more about the music than most of those kids in black boots and eyeliner, hehe). I wish there were more gay folks into this music but I know it's not for everyone.

MFAPL is a fuckin' awesome 'fish track! I miss that band too. Every few months, I google to see if he's started a new project, but it sounds like he's left music for good.

I think most of these bands don't make enough money to live on (except :W: who releases a new album every year) so they're all working day jobs.

That sounds soooooo Nitzer Ebb! I took my boyfriend to see Nitzer Ebb about 2 summers ago when they were touring again. About half-way thru the show, he said, these guys seem sorta gay. Ya think?!

I might have to buy that new And One album. Not sure if it's available in the States yet. I assume you're heard "Military Fashion Show," the most overplayed song in industrial clubs?

(I'm determined to keep this thread alive)

Did you know Claus from Leæther Strip is gay? Not that it matters all that much, but it does change your perception of some of his songs like "Strap Me Down." That's one of the favorite workout songs btw.

One of my favorite current songs is Lost Life by Continues, the singer from Babyland's new band. It's kind of more pop than what Babyland was.

oh man, i remember buying the 2005 metropolis DVD sampler and just watching it over and over. great stuff. mind.in.a.box has a female singer (in Amnesia), awesome. totally diggin' the tune! thanks for that.

industrial / metal wise, this was one of my favorite tunes by "As Ember" , Brent Young's band back in the day. not the greatest female vocals but the instrumentation is spot on.

It's actually not a female singer! I thought that too the first time I heard it. All the vocals are by 1 guy, and he uses vocal affects to portray characters in an ongoing story. mind.in.a.box's albums all flow together to tell a sci-fi/noir story about a government agent named Black.

I've never heard an artist do anything like a storyline across multiple albums before. I think they're one of the most interesting groups out right now.

And I was listening to this remix when I got pulled over 50 miles west of Mankato. =/ It sounds like something out of either a San Francisco or maybe LA sleazy leather bear bar.

LOL!! Same here... I am a huge fan of concept albums of any genre (particularly Pink Floyd though). So when I discovered this industrial/EBM project doing an entire series of concept albums, my mind was very much blown.

miab's best album in my opinion is called Crossroads, which has Amnesia on it. There's another great track called "Stalkers" which is about the creatures chasing him who steal his mind (which causes his amnesia). He uses a robotic voice on that one.
