"What information he did release provides a fuzzy glimpse at a concerted effort to park much of his wealth in overseas tax shelters, suggesting a widespread pattern of tax avoidance unlike that of any previous candidate."

Why am I supposed to care more about what Mitt does with his money than what Obama does with mine?

If Willard "Flip-Flop" Romney cannot be honest with the American taxpayers about what he does with HIS money; HOW can he be trusted with YOUR tax dollars icon_question.gif

People with means have overseas investments and use accounts all around the world. It's called diversification in the global economy. Even people with small portfolios have overseas investments. Wasserman-Schultz has an overseas account. It's no big deal, but it probably seems very confusing to some of you. Following link provides some explanation, but it might be a bit "technical".

If it's not a big deal, why is Cayman Island Mitt hiding the tax returns?

Why doesn't he just address the 800 pound gorilla in the room and say, "I'm filthy stinking rich". Once that's out of the way he can tell us his plans for the economy, healthcare, etc, etc.

Its his fucking money. He earned it, he worked for it and he should not have to apologize for having it. What do you do to save your money? Do you take advantage of tax breaks when you can? Why don't all the rich fuckin democratic senators tell the taxpayers where they hide all thier money and shelter it

I was just trying to think if there is any western or far eastern country in which I do not have business interests. I assume Mitt has invested money just about everywhere. Oh, Viet Nam. Pulled out of there early this year.

I doubt where Mitt places his money is going to make much difference to those who vote for him. To be honest, it is a good topic to keep liberals busy.

    Crime?
No one said it's a crime ... YET
BUT .... Never Ever before in the History of the United States has a Candidate for the US Presidency placed a LARGE bulk of his wealth overseas in what seems to be an Attempt to avoid UNITED STATES TAXES
What Vanity Fair has exposed SO FAR
Is a concerted effort to create tax shelters and retirement accts that would hide large sums of money

    Where the Money Lives
For all Mitt Romney’s touting of his business record, when it comes to his own money the Republican nominee is remarkably shy about disclosing numbers and investments. Nicholas Shaxson delves into the murky world of offshore finance, revealing loopholes that allow the very wealthy to skirt tax laws, and investigating just how much of Romney’s fortune (with $30 million in Bain Capital funds in the Cayman Islands alone?) looks pretty strange for a presidential candidate.

Vanity Fair and Shaxson debunked via links above. But believe what you want. The hard left needs anything, fact or fiction, to stay energized.

    My Dear SoCal
There's seems to be a disconnect between you and your kindred spirits brains
The Vanity Fair article DOES NOT POINT OUT ANY WRONG DOING at this point
If you read the article it shows the Romney camp has set up elaborate means to hide large sums of money
They are all legal ... as of this time
No one is saying that they aren't
What THEY ARE .... are Very Strange accounts for a man who wants to be the leader of the America People

    Now my man
If they are up and up and Romney has absolutely nothing to hide
Email him and ask him to open up his accts for scutiny like his father did when HE ran
and like other candidates did when THEY RAN

Comon SoCal You can do it
Press that send button ... LOL

The McCain campaign did a thorough background check on Romney in 2008 when they were deciding on a VP pick - and they decided there's too much suspicious and unsavory financial trickery in Mitt's background to make him a safe VP pick.

Too bad the idiot Repub party didn't do a similar background check before they picked Romney to be their presidential nominee.

Now they're stuck with a turd sandwich of a candidate!

Yeah, that's the part I don't get. If everything's all good, good. Let us see the birth certificate tax returns.

But then, as I am not running for leader of the world's only superpower, it is not quite such an issue.
