Does anyone use a GTD system or a "tickler" file?

I've been trying to get myself more organized, and the GTD system (with some tweaks) sounds like a great idea. I'm wondering if anyone uses it, and what they think of it. I have some questions about using a 'tickler' file, that might be somewhat unique, but maybe not! If you don't want to post here, please send me a message!

WTF? what the hell do you need that for?

When I was your age, we used index cards with tabbed cards with letters printed on them in a little box...both ways in 4 feet of snow!

I've fiddled with it a bit and have adopted some of the techniques. Might want to look into OmniFocus and Quicksilver (if you use a Mac).

I bought "Things" for my iTouch and my Mac. Quicksilver is a great way to automate computer tasks, but I don't have any real tasks that I need automated on my computer--none that would actually increase my productivity anyways (Check RealJock. Check RealJock. Check RealJock.) I looked at OmniFocus, but it seems way too featured to be readily useable. Things is new, but I think it will take off (and at a fraction of the cost) very soon. I don't mind not being able to sync it yet. The only time I'm at my own computer is in the evenings.

Has anyone tried a tickle file?

Yes. I actually thought it was valuable enough that I built it into a contact management system I wrote awhile back. Ultimately straight forward enough to keep you on top of things without being too complex or cumbersome.
