Knesset member joins other rightwing leaders in call for annexing West Bank, one state solution.

One of the well known figures in the settler movement, Knesset Member Uri Ariel from the radical rightwing National Union Party, is publicly calling for a one-state solution as an alternative to the construction of a Palestinian state, the independent news site Srugim reported.

Ariel is calling on Israel to annex the West Bank immediately and give all Palestinians living there the status of residents in Israel, similar to those of Palestinians in East Jerusalem, which was annexed to Israel in 1967. According to the plan, Gaza will not be made part of Israel.

If the israeli's would truely grant all the same rights given to Israeli's it might work, but the problem is as many a jewish writer I've read from says, The Israeli leadership is scared to death of doing that because it would take away the "JEWISH CHARACTER" of the 'JEWISH HOMELAND",

The Israeli government has gone to great lengths to create apartheid type laws and severely restrictive building permits to make Palestinian Ownership in East Jerusalem so difficult that they just give up, or find themselves in nearly impossible predicaments to live there among the settlers taking over.

This fact has been the subject of UN resolutions and etc. several times through the years. Anyone really think that the Israeli Leadership will give the Palestinians 'right of return' ? Doing the one state solution with giving Palestinians full rights as Israeli's would mean "Right of Return" would be naturally a part of full rights. ISRAEL IS NOT GOING TO DO THAT.

These are just a few of the reasons why unless the Israeli Leadership has a major shift in Ideology that they'll not do this, they are afraid to!!! fearing being taken over by the much faster growing Palestinian population.

SxyDrkHair saidMost people don't realize that there is a One State Solution already. Palestinians are only Arabic-speaking people in the Middle East that can or know how to speak Hebrew. Palestinians and Israelis are only people using Israeli stamps and money.

There is one big problem, we don't have equal citizenship or different levels of citizenship and non-citizenship.

You got that right !! But if by some miracle there was a mutual decision from both Israel and the Palestinians to lay down A L L THE HATCHETS, and Israel gave the Palestinians right of return, backed off the restrictive ownership and building permit process used to remove Palestinians from East Jerusalem , full voting rights, equal education opportunities and so on, then both sides would have something.

But don't look for it to come from the far right LIKUDS, that are funded and propped up by such people as BILLIONAIRE ADELSON, the ISRAELI LOBBY AIPAC IN THE US and many other groups and funding agencies who exist and thrive by keeping the reality of the situation blurred by propaganda..

If both Israelis and Palestinians are granted full equality in everything than a one nation-state solution can be very successful. But Israelis and Palestinians must be on the same sheet of music in respect to equality and legitimate rights to the land that they are now fighting over.

I strongly support a one nation-state solution providing that the Palestinian people are permanently granted full equality to that of Israelis. Otherwise the one nation-state solution will fail just like all the previous attempts at a two nation-state solution.

Personally I think it would work too, but I cannot see the far right Israeli's allowing the Palestinians right of return because it would as they say, 'destroy the 'jewish character of the Jewish Homeland'. Its for this reason that the far right Israeli leadership has such restrictive rules on Palestinians building permits even on their own land, the purpose is to force out as many Palestinians as possible to maintain or improve the 'jewish character' of their population. This is what I've learned from all the reading I've done on Jewish sites from Jewish writers and the statements are quite easily verified.
