I'm an avid reader of RedState.com, considered to be THE Conservative website. The following forum post from that site is representative of hundreds of others I've read there.

The Takeaway: They Really, Really Dislike Romney.
They have talked themselves into fear and loathing of Obama.

    ENJOY!

"How I convinced myself to vote for Romney
rcatheart Friday, July 13th at 12:28PM EDT (link)
Look, I’m no Romney fan. I didn’t support him in the primary this year, nor 4 years ago. I think he’s a slimy politician and I don’t trust him.

    But then I realized:

My biggest problem with Barack Obama is not that I disagree with him on policy issues. It’s a democracy – you win some, you lose some. My problem with Obama is that he is completely unqualified for the job of President, and does not appear to have engaged in any particular degree of on-the-job training over the past four years. He is totally incompetent, and time and time again demonstrates that he lacks the basic institutional knowledge and executive experience to successfully fulfill the role.

I am not a Romney fan. It is unlikely that I will make phone calls or knock on doors on his behalf. But I will vote for him, because I believe that he has the skills and background necessary to sucessfully execute the Office of President of the United States. Regardless of our policy differences and the fact that I think he’s slimy, this is clearly a step up from the current situation.

This is a democracy. Everybody votes, and the winner governs. Each of us doesn’t “deserve” to have our guy win, and nor do we “deserve” to have our policy preferences enacted at every turn.

What we do all deserve is a President with the skills, knowledge, and experience to execute the office faithfully. Obama clearly does not. I believe that Romney does.

Therefore, I vote for Mitt Romney.

I've always known that the GOP has a compelling vision of a better America.

Seriously, do these people stand for anything?

I'll add that they stand for "WINNING" at all costs, regardless of the tactics, its important for them because they say "government doesn't work", so they must win, then they strive by any method to gain the white house and once there set out to show us exactly why government doesn't work. Because they are the party of 'no compromise', he party of "if your right, you don't need to compromise". Best example of this is the Bush administration who got in and crashed and nearly totaled our country.

and they stand for "TUNNEL VISION", they don't like change, they won't look for information to increase their knowledge and if facts are thrown at them, they deflect it as soon as its determined to be at odds with their ideology. They seem to fear considering information that might make them uncomfortable with their status quo.

We have some of these on RJ, just ask one of the conservaposse to read anything other than their mainstay's of Fox News, the Wall St Journal and Newsmax. LOL

Most worrysome is their "bring our country back to god" rhetoric, Republicans versions of "god" mixed in government is a very dangerous combination.

Yet one has seen the left here stand for the very same things. But many of the left also seem to want to smash America apart to get their own way, and force their will on it.

For a TBA you seem To monitor and get involved in 'Yankee' politics very closely. I don't recall true blue being associated with aristocracy or other such things you state about you when it suits! Are you an Aussie or an a swiss American aristocrat - please make up your mind!

I always love a bit of alliteration. Would do you think about:

    GOD, GUNS 'n GREED

Or to cover more bases, at the risk of becoming too much of a mouthful:

    GOD, GUNS, GRAFT 'n GREED

Greed can cover not only their love of money, but of power, at the expense of democracy. And graft for the way they're in bed with corporations and lobbies, legitimizing bribes by the neat trick of calling them campaign contributions, donated though the anonymous SuperPAC system they created. That even allows foreign governments and nationals to give money to Republican candidates, violating what was formerly one of the keystone prohibitions of our US election laws.

Call it trolling or call it 'investigating the lunatics on The Right'.

RedState.com is certainly worth a visit. It's where the Republican leaders go to blog.

IF you think our "Conservaposse" is illogical and confused, check out the lunatics who are actually in charge on RedState.com.

Balancing, I think your right in exposing the utter hypocrisy of most American voters who vote for the likes of Romney and the other far right congressmen and senators. Its high time Democrat/liberal leaning voters stop being apologetic and 'nice' in forwarding facts over Republican hype and far right catering to cover up their corporatist agenda against the interests of the average American voter.

We should boldly expose the facts about Republicans and whose interests they are really promoting by any and all methods.

You're not trolling, you're exposing the reality and the apologists don't like exposure because they might have to think and consider something outside of their ideology, that makes them very uncomfortable.

Just ask one of our Conservaposse to read something that might cause them to have to think again about their Republican apologetics, you may have read of all the dancing they did around being asked to read the CIA Reports showing how many times Rice was warned and ignored those warnings just prior to 9-11. Yet they'll ignore and cling to promoting such rehashed failures from the tragic Bush years, These kind of voters don't want the blinders removed and you're exposing them from another angle is just what's needed.

Yes, this is a troll - this incarnation of him "Balancing" is back - more imbalanced and bitter than ever. Already taking pot shots at me in a thread yesterday. What a guy. Trolling because he's already been kicked off this site more than once. He claims to have been here only since April - - - but also seems to know a whole lot about his perceived enemies.

Stick around and have some fun, Scavenger. We'll go a few rounds with you. Take it over the line though, and we'll have you banned again.

Sorry to have offended you, Jockbod48. But I was honestly just expressing my gut reaction to what I thought was an absurd comment from you.

When I first read one of your posts I thought you were writing for comic effect. Then as I read more, I still thought....THIS isn't a real person but someone fully committed to a persona he's crafted for the sake of 'image'.

So I hope you can understand my point of view and thus my reaction to your offering a rebuke to conservativejock for his pretentiousness.

That each of us can honestly express ourselves here is what makes RJ so useful. I also appreciate your comments.

    I wouldn't describe "Jockbod48" as a real person or a persona - I'd say he's best described as just another self-hating knee-jerk Repubot.

There are a handful of them on RJ and their comments are almost as nutty delusional and humorous as the right-wing "circle jerk" on RedState.

Don't back peddle "Balancing" or whatever name you want to use lately. There was nothing "absurd" about my comment. I simply said I didn't think it was a good idea to discuss financial information on a public web site. That's it. Do you think that's absurd, or comical? You also decided I'm not a real person? Plenty of people here know me in real life - and have for years. You make yourself look foolish when you make stupid allegations.

To say you appreciated my comments is ludicrous. R.J. isn't "useful" because people (socks, trolls) like you "express" yourselves. Your name calling and snide comments only show that you've got issues.

Conservative Tweet Twits do take the prize for bigotry, threats of violence and easily disproved LIES.

But prejudices and hatred make for a very special 'brotherhood'. They NEVER question each other------NEVER call Bull Shit on what is so obvious.

That's why fakes and charlatans tend to do well in the Conservative community----to paraphrase former RNC Chair Michael Steele, speaking specifically about Sarah Palin.
