It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, you would cry too if it happened to you.

Yeah, the only important ones for Americans are for when we turn 16, 18, and 21.

    What about 65, 75, 80, 90, and 100?

    Also who said I'm American?

Why, do they have super strict drinking laws in your state?

Apropos of drinking Taitinger, Veuve, or Dom as a treat?

Be grateful you're too young to actually remember Lesley Gore.

    Taittinger!

My best champagne experience was a bottle of Taittinger Blanc de Blancs.

As for birthdays, the best one was probably at about age three.

    Yeah, 3 was the best!

My great grandfather loved Taitinger, but it seems a bit ordinary.

    redsoxfan791 said30 is pretty important. I loved turning 30.

30 was my worst. I staged the party as a wake, with me "lying in state" on the sofa for most of it, someone else acting as the "funeral director" to conduct people over to pay their respects. ("He looks almost alive" "They did a good job on him")

The whole house was draped inside in black bunting, and everyone had been told to bring sympathy cards, rather than birthday, and to wear mourning. Therefore everyone knew beforehand what to expect, so they could opt out if they found the proceedings in bad taste (which I intended they should be), especially if they'd recently suffered a real loss of family or friends. Fortunately I omitted the internment.

My 40th, 50th and 60th were all surprise parties I truly knew nothing about, and fun. Otherwise I either ignore them completely, or at most go out for dinner with a few others.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

On a similar note, car insurance plummets once you are out of your 20s (assuming you have not spent them wrecking cars).
