I found this link to be useful so I thought I'd share it.

It only takes about 2 minutes to go through. I was glad I found some tips on this disease. You wouldn't want to wait until it's too late to improve your life.

I recently saw a news report about some "wonder drug" which stops the disease from taking over significantly.

You'll have to search for this yourself, but I do recall the study produced the following results:

Placebo = 8% brain loss in 3-6 months
w/ drug = zero

Those numbers are not accurate, but that is as best as I can remember, ha ha.

Oh gosh, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, SouthernGuy.

I personally am not affected in anyway by this disease but I have a friend whose mother has it. When I ran across the link I sent it to him in an email.

Then I thought why don't I share it with you all as well? It's my pleasure to share useful knowledge.

May God bless SouthernGuy's mom.
Amen.

I remember hearing about the antiperspirant. Although, what is a person to do when they perspire BAD!!!! Baby powder only works so much. Also, I remember hearing about the mental exercises. Start taking out those sodoku puzzles, that will get your brain going; just don't HIT your head out of frustration.

You're welcome dancedd. I'm sorry to hear of your grandmother. Hopefully new breakthroughs will come forth to help her soon.

This is a link to the article about a new drug called Rember that 5537B00B was probably referring to.

My mother was afflicted with Alzheimers and Parkinson's Disease for 12 years. She passed away on Christmas Day 2006. I'm hopeful that this "breakthrough" turns out to be the real thing. It is a condition that is especially difficult for the families to endure.

PBS just did a show on Alzheimer's disease, here's the link to the resources: http://www.pbs.org/theforgetting/

In the show it mentioned that voluntary exercise does lower your risk of getting Alzheimer's.
