I've always been a Nintendo guy, and Super Smash Bros. is my favourite series of all time. That being said, for all of the Wii's "innovations", I'm absolutely sickened by its abysmal game selection. Smash Bros. Brawl aside (I already own Twilight Princess for my Gamecube), there is NOTHING on that platform I want to play.

X-Box, on the other hand, has an incredible amount of games that look very interesting to me. None of that "reaching out to a broader audience through simplistic games" crap Nintendo's spouting. Developers make good games for this system without having to work in gimmicks or "E"s...

It's a toss up though. I desperately want to play Brawl (btw, I've owned the game itself since the day it was released), but I want the selection I get from Microsoft's system.

I agree, the Wii is very fun and easy to use but a lot of the games don't look like fun.

The XBox is very conducive to an HTPC setup and the games are interesting.

"Velcome to my vebb of destruction!"
LOL! I loved that! SO much for waiting for my GameCube to die before I unload it, those fuckers are indestructable, as I suspected. The music at the end, priceless!

I have never seen or played either one. My last video game was the Atari. Still around here somewhere.

Maybe I'm getting old, but today's video games look so complicated. It was challenging enough with a joystick and one button.

Can we bring back Asteroids and Pac Man?

Not a big gamer, but both have their merits.

Wii is more fun with group of friends at a party, etc.

360 is a great weigh to play by yourself (giggles) and waste time. Lots of great games.

They arnt even compairable, so stop trying. They are two completel different systems, more so than any other previous "generation" consoles.

Now Ps3 & Xbox 360 are a little more comparable. Wii is just too different from both

The whole point of a forum discussion is to debate the merits of two irreconcilably different items which can never be resolved.

lol then you may as well make it "computers vs. consols, which do you like better" or "walking vs. airplanes; which is your favorite form of transportation".

My answer?
I like Wii better for Super Smash & Mario Galaxy
I like computers more than consoles
I much prefer walking to flying

They're still competition, making them very comparable. It's less likely that someone will purchase an X-Box after buying a Wii (and vice versa), so we're discussing the pros and cons of getting one over the other.

My best friend has the 360, the Wii, the PS1 and PS2. We play all of them for different games. Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Zelda, Mario, ect. Her kids love the Wii sports.

I'm all about the Wii, but I wouldn't mind having a 360 either.

I'm also all about laughing my head off at the PS3 any chance I get. Hey, if the Sony fans were allowed to do it to me for the last ten years, I've got a lot of time to make up.

The best gaming moment of 2008 wasn't anything I've played (although getting my remastered GH3 disc AND Smash Bros. Brawl on the same day are close), but the anouncment at E3 that FF13 was going to be on the 360.

Anyway, like has been said... totally different machines and markets for both. It just happens that Wii is beating the ever loving crap out of everything, and it's given us some of the best games of the generation in its first year. Mario Galaxy, anyone?

Oh, and Blink777? I've now got a huge internet crush on you :-p. I might have to crack out the router for some Smash Bros ;)

I can agree with blink about Smash Bros. I like the game along with Mario Kart but there needs to be some more serious gaming titles. I'm rather sad with the game choices for now. That's why I like the 360. It has some good titles that I would play.

Hell. Yes. Totally made E3 this year.

Haha! Another reason for me to actually get a Wii . I <3 Princess Zelda.

I can't really compare the two since they are totally different consoles.

Right now, I have a Wii (and a PS2, and a DS). I went with the Wii first for Super Smash Bros. and Okami. Mario Galaxy is next.

As much as I'd love a 360, I'm more likely to go for a PS3 next since God of War III has been confirmed. God of War I & II are two of my favorite games of all time.

I have both and I play the Wii more. For some reason, the 'playability' is better.

But I find that I use the capabilities of the Xbox360 to stream music (and sometimes, pics) from my computer.

Overall, I think the Wii is a slightly better value.
