The app has been down with login problems for almost three days now, and there are a shitload of one-star reviews on the app store with some very pissed paying users. I joined five days ago, and in that time I got three picture violations for G-rated pictures...one because my underwear waistband showed above the top of my jeans. Really?

    What dickwad runs that show?

Scruff is a lot better. But none of them is worth the powder it would take to blow them to hell. Hardly any older guys on them.

I use Scruff, Jack'd, and Grindr... different guys on each one. The other two you keep your message history with everyone you spoke with. Even a working Grindr has shitty limitations.

The latest version of Scruff Pro is pretty awesome. They've done away with the credits system and now have a flat rate for all the premium features. The layout is better and I haven't experienced any crashes or freezes.

Think of the queues the poor boys are being put in. Its going to take at least a couple days to work through the backlog.

grindr is run by a group of elderly nuns in Dublin who want to make sure that somebody thinks of the children

Why a gay hook up site should be "family friendly" has not been explained.

Wow, you're right wrestlervic, some of the worst reviews of any app I've seen. I just went to the App Store out of curiosity (I don't use Grindr) and Grindr Xtra is getting pounded. I guess guys who use social search apps might want to avoid this one, I can't believe Grindr will be around for long if they don't quickly get their act together. And they were once the leader - sad.

Who wants to create a new hook up site with me? I need two java programmers and web designer. I'll start work on the system docs. We'll literally have dozens of dollars in no time!

True, our generation still prefers the tactile feedback of adult bookstore booths, mensrooms, city park bushes, and glory holes. None of that virtual online BS for us! icon_rolleyes.gif

The Hornet app is a fairly new, well designed, with multipic features, maybe a few bugs (pun not intended), but not widely used yet. Some people have promoted online saying that it is what Grindr was intended to be. Dunno, but another alt anyway . . .

I think a lot of negative reviews reflect frustration, but also show high usage and demand. If people were apathetic it would show no one cared/used the app.

Aren't they just the essence and convenience of true emotional unavailability?

It's sad that people would pay money to live in their ego.

They used to be free, and then they starting charging. Like an idiot I bought it one month for $4.99 to see "unlimited" profiles which actually only lets you view like 100. You can't search globally either. So * from me too.

Grindr was in the gay meet-up business early and has name recognition. This is a market where your app is only of value when lots of other guys have it, too, and are using it.

If the dissatisfaction continues, with service interruptions and poor performance, then their daily users will plummet, a death spiral, and they'll be out of business virtually overnight (slight pun).

Grindr is the worst!!! absolute worst!!

they are Full of shit, unlimited views? no maybe like 50

recently at LA pride they didn't have a booth they had a couple local guys walk around in GRINDR shorts and were so cheap they did not even a table.

the app sucks, LONG TIME for photo approvals and they censor for no reason.
yet, half the torsos on there are pathetic and they will censor photos of me in full clothes!
    WTF

the app should DIE and be DELETED. I have 4 days to renew and I will not.
the managers suck, the app sucks and SCRUFF is 1000x better

there is hope.. jack3d is OK..

Hornet shows promise but has some lame features.

    SCRUFF IS THE BEST.
