I like the new Verbolten at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg VA. Plus you can get a beer while you're waiting in line. What's your favorite roller coaster?

I like the fact that you can get beer as you wait in line.

My favorite is Millennium Force at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH... tall, fast and with a long layout.

    Whhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Kingda Ka at Six Flags NJ is the king. Its short but sweet; up a 450ft tower at 128 mph, down at a 270 degree angle, and up another 130 ft incline that makes you feel like youre free-floating.

If I remember right, on a clear day in one direction you can see Pa. in the distance.

It was the first big roller coaster I ever went on, I was 11 at the time.
Its called Air at a park in England called Alton Towers.

The ride was so smooth but exhilarating because it was face down and quite quick.
I have been on bigger and faster rides, since I'm addicted to roller coasters now, but that will always be the best in my mind.

X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain here in California

(The seats rotate/flip themselves in addition to the loops and corkscrews which I thought was SICK)

We took the trip down a couple of summers ago. I loved the coasters (the Verbolten wasn't there yet, drat), especially the Griffon!

Thought the rest of the park was kind of substandard, though. I may be spoiled as the last park I went to before that was Tokyo Disney.

I don't get to ride coasters nearly enough, the bf gets motion sickness and hates thrill rides so I have to find other reasons to go. icon_cry.gif

There are so many great coasters that I've never gotten to ride. I'd love to try my hand at Millenium Force at Cedar Point, Lightning Racer at Hersheypark, and T Express in China.

As far as raw theming goes, it's hard to beat the Disney rides, even if they're tame rides by comparison. My favorite is still the Big Thinder Mountain series, if only for the raucous good time it is.

Having ridden almost all the major woodie manufacturers—PTC, GCI, CCI, Dinn & Summers, etc.—I'd have to say the GCI tracks ride leagues above the others. American Thunder (was Evel Knievel) at St. Flags St. Louis is a blast. From what I've read, though, the Intamin "plug & play" tracks are superior in their ride, but I haven't gotten to try one out.

I also really enjoyed the airtime on Mamba at Worlds of Fun. It's hard to beat a Morgan when it comes to gently lifting you out of your seat.

All this talk of coasters makes me want to dig out my old copy of No Limits and "ride" all afternoon.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has been named the most beautiful amusement park in the world almost every year by whoever determines that sort of thing. It's also one of the few parks that not only allows but encourages you to stay drunk the whole time you're there. Aah, the memories of Oktoberfest and dancing the polka every Friday afternoon at Busch Gardens while I was in college. I guess it was the polka....I was kind of drunk.

It's pretty enough, but I think that's mostly hyperbole. Tokyo DisneySea is the most beautiful park I've EVER been to. Every inch is perfectly themed - puts the US Disney parks to shame.

Haha. I won't tell you in the state in which I visited Disney World a couple of times while in college. Let's just say it was a colorful experience.

Sorry guys, nothing beats The Intimidator at Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA. Over 90 mph, after the first drop, you lose consciousness for about 5 seconds. Scary feeling but awesome! I rode in front row 2 weeks ago, HOLY SHIT! Best experience in my life! I heard nothing but wind all over my ears and tears are just bursting out of my eyes icon_eek.gif

So a few parks have a coaster ...try CEDAR POINT, OH...!
    My top 2 favorites icon_cool.gif
MILLENNIUM FORCE......It’s the big star of the show. A true Giant among coasters. So huge, it created a whole new category – the giga-coaster. Welcome to Millennium Force, the 310 foot, 93 MPH record-breaking monster of a thrill ride. The first hill features an elevator cable lift system to get you to the top faster, then it’s an 80-degree drop to start the coaster ride of your life!

TOP THRILL DRAGSTER....Zero to 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds. A few seconds later, you’re 420 feet in the air. In the race for pure adrenaline thrills, there is one winner: Top Thrill Dragster. Nothing else compares to this high-horsepower shot into the sky. From a standing start you’re launched forward, then straight up, then straight down and back to the finish line. The ride may be over in 17 seconds, but it’ll stay with you forever.

    Blue Streak 60 mph
Cedar Creek Mine Ride 40 mph
    Corkscrew 48 mph
    Disaster Transport 40 mph
    Gemini 60 mph
    Iron Dragon 40 mph
    Jr. Gemini 6 mph
    Magnum XL-200 72 mph
    Mantis 60 mph
    Maverick 70 mph
    Mean Streak 65 mph
    Raptor 57 mph
    Wicked Twister 72 mph
    Woodstock Express 25 mph
