""The fact is, no one likes the guy or believes in him," said the campaign manager for a former Romney rival, who declined to be quoted by name because his former boss is on record supporting Romney's campaign against incumbent President Barack Obama.

"Look back at our 2008 primaries," he said. "Who did all the other candidates dislike? Romney. Look at this year. Who did all the other candidates dislike? Romney. No one wants Obama to win, but no one likes the guy who is running against him."

Republican leaders, especially conservatives, see Romney as a malleable, cynical power-grabber without principle or compass. They warned voters that Romney would be unable to take the fight to Obama on health care because he had fostered a similar program as governor of Massachusetts, and they argued that a wealthy, well-connected son of privilege was not a good spokesman for selling free-market ideas to the middle-class."

I wonder if they can dump him before the convention or are all his delegates committed?

If you want the truth of what is going on within the Republican Party, you're not getting it from the Huff Post. You are getting what Democrats want to hear, so if that's your objective, keep reading.

Good !!!! You repubs keep Romney in there and we're going to rub Romney's nose in all his lies and flip flop changes depending on whether he's talking to a Christian Fundi crowd or the good ol' boys down at the all white rich mans country club.

You just hang right in there with him buddy and build up those hopes that he'll not keep his anti gay, anti civil rights promises to the good christian fundi's. Thats the way a good gay republican should vote !!! go ahead !!

I actually hear it directly from Repubs (TONS of em at work)! Now hows about THAT for a source? Or is that one biased as well?

There's no shortage of prominent Republicans eagerly throwing Mitt under the bus about the tax issue. George Will, Haley Barbour, Bill Kristol, the Governor of Alabama, The National Review.
These people could have rallied behind Romney, but they chose to fan the flames, and now the scandal is worse than ever.
    Face it: they hate him.

Well, your posts here on RJ prove everyday that wherever you're getting what you think is the "truth of what is going on" - is obviously a biased bogus pro-right-wing propaganda outlet.

Anyone who watched the freak show that was the Repub nomination fight knows that the Repubs don't like Romney.
Repub primary voters turned to every other available candidate before they finally caved in and tepidly picked Romney (only because the other candidates were even worse).

And all the polls show that Repub voters are unenthusiastic about Willard.

If you're unaware of that fact then you live in a delusional fantasy world.

RickRick, the "delusional fantasy world" is clearly where you feel most comfortable, because it's actually YOUR posts that prove every day that reveal biased bogus propaganda. The polls, while overall are still only slightly favoring Obama, not ALL of the polls (if you really want to believe any of them) tell that story. Romney is leading in some, but overall it is still a statistical tie. So if the polls are your truth, at least report on them accurately rather than presenting some bogus wishful-thinking on your part that nobody likes Romney. Clearly, the polls see things differently.

I think this is at the heart of the commentary.

Romney isn't going anywhere (he's the presumed candidate).
Romney isn't going anywhere (he's floundering).

Not true regardless of how many times you libs want to say it. The polls aren't seeing floundering numbers by any stretch of the imagination. Don't take my word for it...

    MITT COULD WIN.

He LIES like a sleazy realtor.

MITT is a PROFESSIONAL LIAR.......and he's gathered a team of LIARS who know how to fool people into trusting him.

So far it hasn't worked. But Team Romney won't give up and they've got hundreds of millions to spend......and KARL ROVE TO GUIDE THE LIES.

For examples of the dishonesty to come, just read through the posts of his hyper-active supporters here.

Haven't heard much from the ConservaPussies® lately. Maybe they're giving up?
