I LOVE foods you get at carnivals and fairs. I'll eat anything that you can put on a stick and/or deep fry. Usually I start with a corn dog, then have a sausage and peppers sandwich and then finish up with cotton candy. But lately I've discovered a new favorite....fried Dr. Pepper. They are like fried donut holes with Dr. Pepper in the batter and then covered in a sticky Dr. Pepper sauce and topped with powdered sugar. Delicious! Anybody else have a love of fair foods? What are your favorites?

I'll take your word for it, but the Dr. Pepper donut holes SOUND awful.

The Texas State Fair has fair food competitions every year - the last couple of "winners" I've had were a "fried latte" and "buffalo chicken in a flapjack." Both sucked, lol.

I do love me a hand-dipped corny dog, though. Yum! All fat and high-glycemic index carbs. What could be better. ;-)

Going to the Fauquier County (Virginia) fair this weekend - better save up some room!

The only thing I ever seem to eat at fairs is funnel cake.

I once had fried mac & cheese on a stick at RennFest. Words can't describe how heavenly it was.

If you start putting food in your mouth made by carnies, you may as well resign your gym membership immediately. icon_razz.gif

Obviously you've never had fry bread or you wouldn't utter such a blasphemous statement! icon_eek.gif

But this is the kind of food my sister makes to eat every night; save the pizzas in the freeze; or Domino's when there isn't time for anyone to cook!

yes yes yes...been eating this since I was like 6

its called pizza fritz or pizzelle...get it twice a year once at an italian church festival and the 2nd time at a Polish festival..go figure.

you can have it with sugar or tomato sauce and its just awesome...so many calories with the grease but when done right its food heaven.

the polish festival is happening next week...looking forward to buying some huge potato pancakes..they are the size of a pancake you get at the diner not some rinky dink size. The lines are sometimes an hour for these babies and I buy extra and freeze them and bring them out for tailgating season...also will get the pierogies and kielbasa too

then of course you have the sausage sandwich with cheese at the Midway in Seaside Heights...best sausage around, have not been there this year but its coming up in August, also will do the boardwalk fries with a cherry lime rickey.

Zeppoles used to be a fave at Seaside Heights but not so much anymore...in the old days it was Italians making them now you have kids from Russia and Spanish workers and they just do not know how to make them anymore..they aren't suppose to be hush puppies
