Tea Party Nation Defends Bachmann's Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Thu, 07/19/2012 - 1:45pm

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s witch hunt against Muslim-Americans working in government, specifically Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin, has been denounced by not only Democrats like Keith Ellison but also top Republicans such as John McCain, John Boehner, Marco Rubio, Scott Brown and even her former campaign manager. But at least Bachmann still has support from Tea Party Nation head Judson Phillips, who said in an email to members today that “John McCain needs to sit down and shut up.” Phillips also claimed while “Islam is our enemy” the Obama administration has listed “potential terrorists as Tea Party supporters.”

Michele Bachmann is a lightning rod for controversy. But there is an interesting point to all of it. Controversy always swirls around her when she is standing up for the truth. What is she doing now that is causing controversy and why is she right?

Michele Bachmann called for an investigation into the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamists who are influencing American policy.

Unfortunately some Republicans, the drive by media and Islamist sympathizers have changed the story to where it is not about the Muslim Brotherhood, a known terrorist organization, but to a story about Huma Abedin.

The Obama Regime releases report after report that names potential terrorists as Tea Party supporters, those who oppose the Obama Regime and those who advocate closing the borders and stopping illegal immigration.

Yet they will not even use the word Islam when they describe terrorism.

The fact is Islam is our enemy. Islam is a theocracy. It is not consistent with a Western Democracy. Islam demands its adherents overthrow a non-Islamic government and replace it with an Islamic government.

This has been the story of Islam wherever it has gained power for the last fifteen hundred years.

During the Cold War, Communists and Soviet sympathizers were not allowed into sensitive positions in government, except of course during Democrat administrations. When we have Islamist groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood that want to replace our Democracy with a theocracy and this is their avowed goal, what the hell are we doing letting them anywhere near the door?

John McCain needs to sit down and shut up. Perhaps he should buy a clue about a subject before he starts talking about it.

The Islamist threat to America and to freedom is real. The question is are we going to deal with it before we are attacked again?

Are there enough "TBAGGERS" in her district that think like their leader above, to support Bachmann in spite of the fool she made of herself over this ?

Will she continue to get enough sympathy votes from her "they're all picking on me" styled campaign to give her a win ?

Surely to god those people up there in her district, have enough sense to keep her up there and not send her back to washington to embarrass our whole country any more than she already has.

Sadly yes. I used to have business that took me to her district. The area is so Republican she won't ever lose. The people there really are that radical Right, and they hate gays. The high rate of gay teen suicides, which she won't properly address, is no coincidence, but a reflection of community attitudes. She'll be in the US House until she herself chooses to leave, or her district is redrawn, or if she decides to run for US Senate or Minn Governor.

I live in MN and unfortunately this stunt is not likely to affect an election for her. Her district happens to be where just about every single racist homophobic Christian I've ever met lives!!! If any of them read the tea party documents, most of them probably WOULD agree with her.

I don't think she'd have a chance at ever winning a national or even state election, but we've been stuck with her in Minnesota for years. ):

Nice to see some of the most ridiculously radical idiots in the Repub party (Bachmann and Palin) being tamped down by the Repub elite - but I'm afraid the reason for it is simply window dressing for the sake of appearances during a presidential election year.

Most of the Repub base still love and agree with Bachmann and Palin and the radical right fringe.

I am not suprice that she is so reactionary, it is in the nature of people like her. Her validity to reprisent a portion of a society is laughable. I am sorry but extreme republicanism is not only bad for the country, but bad for their party.

If the idiots who elect Bachman were worried that this idiot should not be in congress, they would never elect her in the first place. No, nothing this moron says will ever lead her to turn off her voters, she is from a district where the average voter has an education of third grade. She could run on a platform of "gabba gabba" and she would beat any democrat because she is loved by the mindless idiots who vote in her district.

A hostile exaggeration, though he's right that they LOVE her in her district. I know a lot of people who live there.icon_confused.gif
