Given the tragedy which has occurred here in Denver, should "The Dark Knight" be pulled from movie theaters out of respect for the victims?

My prayers go out to the families, friends, and community.

No. If anything, more people should see it. We shouldn't live in fear of psychos.

No... I don't know why people blame Dark Knight for this, it's not the movie's fault. It could have been any premier and this idiot could have done what he did...

    I don't think so...

It's clearly an extremely tragic incident. But the movie was just the venue that some twisted fuck decided to go postal at....

But pulling the movie doesn't particularly show respect to the families to me...and with the production budget that wouldn't go over well.

I agree with DIN - I don't get why the fact that it is The Dark Knight has anything to do with the shooting other than it being a movie premier with a large number of people, it really has nothing to do with the movie.

    I dunno yet.

But i feel like the movie is completely tainted now. . and not fun. It's tied with this horrible, tagic event....and it's just weird now.

No need to withdraw it from theaters. However, I must admit this incident pretty much 'killed' any desire I had of seeing it in the theater, lol. I usually prefer to wait for movies to come out on DVD or Netflix anyway because I prefer the comfort of my own home and toilet icon_cool.gif

Should guns be pulled off the market because of a single shooting?

    No.

But there are some things Mr. Nolan could do that would be in good taste.

No it shouldn't be, but they do need to continue to be alert just in case someone decides to pull a copycat move...

Only if cars should be pulled from the highways out of respect for the victims.

Not because of a single shooting, but much stronger gun control - especially longer waiting periods - will lessen the number of tragedies.

this is actually a really good point and totally in line with the message of the batman movies... something about "some men just want to see the world burn."

I think it was a really devastating tragedy but I don't really think it makes sense to pull the movie from theaters at all.

There's never a good reason to pull a book off of a shelf or a movie out of theaters. That's just hysteria. I mean, if the Joker fugue motive is legit, should we bring back the days of comic book burnings? Pull the '60s Batman TV series from syndication? Where does that end?

How many people kill or maim because God told them to, or because angels guide their actions?

When's the last time you heard for a call to ban the Bible?
