20 Year Class Reunion

So, this weekend was my 20-year high school class reunion. We were a pretty big class—505 graduates, and probably around half of them came back with their assorted spouses to the reunion. Ravco and I were the only same-sex couple there, though I know of several who could have attended but didn't.

My point in all of this is: THANK YOU, REALJOCK. This site kept me motivated to keep working out, to keep trying to lead a healthier life, and to keep getting fitter and stronger and hotter than I ever was 20 years ago. It was so smugly satisfying to have every single other man in my class look at me in envy behind their beer guts and ill fitting shirts. I never thought that the most popular pretty girls in our class would want me as a part of their pictures and conversations. We walked out of the room last night hand in hand, and our heads held high.

    THANK YOU, BOYS!

Haha! This was also my experience at my own 20 year reunion (10 years ago). Looking and feeling good was such a win!

The best revenge is to feel good and look even better. I've seen people from my school in passing over the years and man, father time has not been kind to them.

And the jocks who walked around like they owned the school....karma is a bitch.icon_twisted.gif

Next year it will be 40 years for me. Holy cow! But I remember my 20th. Main thing that surprised me was how much better the women had aged than the men. A lot of them had gained some weight, but generally, you could see that they had taken more care of themselves. Society puts more pressure on women to look good; for (straight) men, it's all about accomplishment and how much money they make. But most of them looked like hell. Funny, the two who looked decent were two I had always suspected were gay.

Aww, thanks for the props guys. Of course, I couldn't have made any gains without the support and encouragement of my wonderful husband. Those girls just wanted to sop him up with a biscuit.

The women at my reunion were holding up much better, too. I think most of the men gave up years ago.

It made me smile - reading your impressions of your reunion. Glad to hear you had fun. We who work out and take good care of ourselves can go to these events and have a lot of fun. I went to my 30th college reunion. There were quite a few of us who had stayed in shape.........and then, there were a few who had become doughboys. It was a hoot........especially a couple of the women.......wanting to get all cozy......

You both look really good. Keep up your work outs and eating clean!

We went through similar but sadly at a funeral for an old school friend's Mom. My old classmates that were there didn't know who I was, lol.

Looking good and being childless is the best revenge! Take it from one who held up well by the 30th reunion - where even the women despite hair, makeup and botox were starting to look pretty ragged.

Wow. Finally, 20 years later, you finally get to feel just a little better than all those jocks and cool dudes. Good for you.

This story made me smile. I think we all have this fantasy of dazzling our friends from high school or university. Good for you!

Glad you had a great time! We had ours (only 83 grads in my class)
several years ago and was really interesting. Loved going, got stares and never knew if it was because of how I look (little geek kind of graduated didn't he?) or whether they thought they heard I might be gay. Everyone seemed reasonably friendly.

Glad you found RJ to be helpful, I know I have!

I'm sure Eager, you would look good at any reunion no doubt...haha...
But I am curious.... certainly "looking good", but how would "childless" be the best revenge?

That is So Awesome! Several reasons: you went to your high school reunion with your partner! You went fit and healthy... AND you managed to do that using this site; which can get pretty bad at times, that alone deserves something! Congrats SourceFour! Cheers*icon_cool.gif

So, photos from the event are starting to pop up on Facebook. Thank God it was in an event center, and not at the high school itself. We sat at a table of kindred spirits, drinking malted spirits-- LOTS of malted spirits. Apparently I was hilarious.

I think eagermuscle was pointing out the adverse effects on a woman's body of having a litter of children. Ravco and I keep trying to conceive, but we just can't seem to make it work.
