Awesome time! I took an RJ'er along (Flynn) and we did a two-day tour. Visited Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, and the Grand Canyon, then hiked the lava tubes at the San Fransisco Volcanic Field.

Looks like it might be a de Havilland Twin Otter (the shape of the turboprop engine is a clue, with the wing strut). I used to fly those into Alabama when I was at Fort McClellan, have some funny stories about them.

I'll e-mail you the story directly, so as not to derail your thread, but at the same time, give it a bump. icon_wink.gif

for anyone who is interested in the Grand Canyon, I recommend a book by Colin Fletcher called The Man Who Walked Through Time. He puts a pack on his back and does a solo walk of it. The book records his adventures. What a walk!

I did Meteor Crater during my Grand Canyon trip. Whenever I get back to the Grand Canyon I'm going to the North Rim. I hear its a lot better.

Yeah, the North Rim is fucking fantastic! I haven't done the South Rim, and probably won't.

Next time you're at it, visit Sunset Crater. The ancient lava flows are awesome! I've still got some work to do on those pics. It was late in the day and partly cloudy, so the color needs a boost.

Can I view it somewhere it else? It doesn't even seem that there's anything in addition to the text in your first post.

Don't take the choppers from Vegas unless it's the LAST thing on your bucket list!

One of my former flight instructors used to work for Grand Canyon Airlines. I sorta had an idea of which tour I wanted. icon_wink.gif

Nowhere else to view it till I get it hanging in a gallery. I'm kinda picky about posting "good" pictures online. icon_wink.gif
