Okay, so there are guys at my (and T's) gym who have the upper body of the guy on the left, and the lower body of the guy on the right.

Gawd, it's so friggin' GROSS!!! It looks so "off" that I'm pretty much deer-in-the-headlights when I see it....your FOREARMS should not be bigger than your CALVES. T and I think this is breeder-satisfactory 'cos these guys are just after the big guns/chest to get the ladies and figure chicks will never look at their legs.

What say you realjockers?? Really gross? Or absolutely the most disgusting thing in the world? Which is it?

Usually there is something else wrong other than pencil legs. Like missing a brain or homely face.

Actually, the worst "offender" kinda looks like a slightly older Matt Bomer, with a bit of grey in his temples.

Ummm, but if you see his legs it reminds one of some freakish insect. They are TINY/SPNDLY. I'm surprised he doesn't fall over.

I'm way more impressed with big legs and a big back than big arms and pecs. It shows that a guy is dedicated and smart about his physique.

Not being able to wear the cute jeans is the only downside.

Sadly, no. He's late 30's/early 40's, I think.

I'm opposite, my legs are pretty powerful and I wish my upper body were a little more proportionate

Same here. I like doing squats because I feel like it's the only thing I don't suck at lol.

Well jeez, the guy could have just gotten out of three years in a wheelchair...

Anyway, I haven't increased my bench press in years for just that reason. Just keep throwing up 205 to maintain tone. The legs are limited by arthritis. If I can move the squat up a couple of notches one week, then maybe I'll move up to 245 as a reward

I sadly can't do real squats with a shoulder issue I have so its hard for me to get super ripped legs. Laziness tends to happen as well haha

I was like this up until about a year ago. my reasoning was that I when I first started lifting, I wanted to focus on a few things to get some results and get 'hooked' (which worked because I work out all the time now). then I just sort of didn't think to work legs into my routines for a while and started getting out of proportion... I'm pretty balanced now. definitely gave me a lot more appreciation for big legs though, mmmmm

or maybe they have a problem with their knees. Good job at being judgemental.

What's the shoulder issue?

Could be just a factor of their daily routine... most people don't use their own power for locomotion, so they just forget that they need to develop their legs and glutes.

I'm on my feet all day and bike to work, but I don't really do much lifting, so my upper body is pretty weak.

LOL, I have knee issues, but that doesn't stop me. In fact, leg-related activity and strength-building helps.

Its really common. I see certain guys at the gym all the time but never in the leg area. Squats are the most fun too so sucks to be them

Have you tried doing front squats, with the barbell resting on your chest (using wrist straps) instead of resting it on your shoulders? I do this because of back problems, and it works wonders.
