So I recently got back into the gym after surgery ( I got a new kidney hooray!) and I was so used to modifying my meal for optimal protein, moderate carbs, and low phosphorus/potassium...now I can kind of like eat anything...only I don't know what to eat!

Anyone have any ideas of new things i can introduce to my fridge?

Can't help you with the diet, never been very conversant on that topic, and my "senior" dietary needs are different now. Maybe I can at least help with a thread bump.

But I didn't know about the kidney transplant! If it was mentioned elsewhere I missed it. Were you hospitalized for long? Fully recovered now, or still convalescing? What was wrong with your old kidney, if you wish to tell us?

Obviously hope this has made you healthy again. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks! I actually haven't been posting for awhile because I've been so busy and what not, but...I think I'm fully recovered? It's been exactly six weeks and four days since it happened, and I've been given the ok to get back on my bike (because walking is bullshit) and go back to training in the gym.

I'm so used to having the specialized diet that I made for myself that I'm drawing blanks when it comes to things I can have now lol.

Also the hospital stay was only like five days, I figured it would be longer but ::shurg::

Maybe you should continue with the diet you are used to. Seems to me it was a rather healthy diet! Congrats on the new kidney.. be good to it!

Welcome back and may you enjoy your kidney for a long, long time. If your diet kept you healthy while waiting for a kidney, it must be pretty good, so I'd stick to it. Unless there is stuff you missed like crazy while on your diet?
