  Hey, I say go for it. But don't expect for Americans to give up their fundamental human right expressed in the 2nd Amendment anytime soon.

  Bloomberg just puzzles me in the last few years. We already know what the Supreme court has said about DC's gun law.
  
  We have rabid dogs on both sides of this issue. One side feel that there should be no citizen ownership of firearms. The other feel bazooka's and Gatling guns are ok for home use.

  Thanks, that was very interesting, and it cleared a lot of things up for me... Not saying it warmed me up to him, per se. For instance, I find it hypocritical that he opposes decriminalizing marijuana, even though he's enjoyed smoking it in the past.
  
  Not that Obama's any better on that issue... at least, not yet. He may "evolve," lol.

  It seems rather disingenuous to accuse cops of being trigger-happy, in a country where buying an assault rifle and thousands of rounds of ammo, with ease, is seen by many (and recognised by the law) as perfectly normal behaviour. The cops might argue they are simply 'standing their ground'. Perhaps you have got the standard of law enforcement you deserve.

  Bloomberg is one of the very few politicians with any balls at all on this issue -- who is brave enough to call out America on how totally retarded our country has become on "gun rights." We have abandoned all common sense and happily allow insane people to buy arsenals, slaughter innocents by the dozens, and then we weep about how terrible it all is.
  No safety training, no mental assessment, no drug tests, just walk into a gun store, walk out and start firing.
  The other civilized countries are laughing at us, when they're not crying for us.
  
  BTW, the second amendment that gun nuts love to trumpet DOES NOT guarantee the right to own a gun. Yet another myth created by the gun lobby and the gun industry, whose goal is to get rich, not make our society better or safer. The 2nd Amendment says that the government will not take guns away from a "well-regulated militia."
  Call me crazy, but a nut job ordering an arsenal off the internet so he can dress up like the Joker and kill a room full of children is not my idea of a well-regulated anything.

  The Supreme Court found the opposite in two recent cases.
  
  See District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago.
  
  Heller found that the 2nd was an individual right.
  McDonald found that it applies to the individual states.
