I'm surprised he was only 74. He was relatively and surprisingly young when on The Jeffersons.

I thought the same thing. The Jeffersons ran between 1975 and 1985, making him about 37 when the series began.

Maybe he was 74 in 'gay years' (i.e. actually 84). icon_wink.gif

In any case, sad to hear he's gone. He was a talented comedic actor.

He was awesome. I've actually been watching a lot of The Jeffersons episodes lately on YouTube. Sad to hear we won't have his talent around.

I find it hilarious, nearly everyone on facebook, Television, twitter and message boards has the same joke yet somehow sounds as if they might seriously think they just thought of it, upon hearing of Sherman's death. icon_lol.gif

    The wonders of the web.

RIP Sherman...they dont make tv shows like the Jeffersons anymore, truly groundbreaking and refreshingly unpolitcally correct

The woman who played his wife on the Jeffersons was about 15 yrs older than he, but he matched her in "perceived" age. The "STAR" did a kinda-outing story on him 30 years ago or so, I remember it well.....

Aww, Georgie's left us!! My favourite show back in my high school days. My dad and I used to watch the reruns every night a 11. The Jeffersons and Benny Hill would be played back-to-back.

What a sad day o man he was such a funny comedian.Impossible that all the 4 lead actors are dead now.Can you believe Weezie would be almost 100!There was a huge age difference between them but you could not tell back in the day.He have me so many laughs in my 1970's childhood when the US was great.Rest in Peace Sherman.Hope your movin on up baby!Ryan
