Why do a lot of men (gay and straight) generally associate smaller framed, skinny and or short guys with being feminine or weakly?

I don't. It is ones actions that makes one feminine in my book.

While there are obviously small guys who are very masculine, and big guys who are not, there is some science behind the assumption.
Big guys are treated differently, and had different expectations place don them growing up, shifting them towards the stereotype, small guys with delicate features are likewise treated through their whole lives differently based on their appearance, so you have that factor.
And, I also read an article where the discussed the fact that face shape and build are physical expressions of certain chemical and hormonal makeup, which in turn shifts how we act. A man who produces more testosterone reacts differently than one who does not, and the presence of the hormone shaped his physical appearance as well as he grew.

Sure. In chauvinistic societies men are judged based on qualities deemed manly, and anything feminine is considered a weakness.

Biologically speaking it has to do with your chromosomes and nothing else.

it is manly to be muscled an muscled people aren't weak.

it is feminine to be petite and petite people are weak....

these are not biases just definitions of words....

Yes there are exceptions and these exceptions tend to be very good athletes but just because there are exceptions this shouldn't change the fact that it is more feminine to be petite / weak.

a woman with large muscles is called butch and manly..... this doesnt mean she is either a lesbian or has a deep voice it is just perception...

the problem here really is that people view being feminine and more weak as a bad thing..... and that is just insecurity

You don't have to convince me of that. What smartbart is arguing, and what I'm agreeing with, is that the association between femininity and weakness is flawed.

Yes I agree that that is possible... but as I already said there are exceptions and your description would indeed be quite exceptional

So, you hit on another point. Your comment validated that it doesn't necessarily mean that a muscled woman is a lesbian but you never validated the weakly, petite man...

Biologically speaking, testosterone is a major biochemical component in male growth. It puts hair on your body, muscles on your frame, and adds inches to your height. Therefore, someone's overall height and/or build is a convenient (but not necessarily accurate) visual indicator of how much testosterone he produces.

Taller/more muscular = more testosterone = more masculine
    Shorter/petite = less testosterone = more feminine

    Explanations:
Skinny guys are weaker than muscular guys.
A skinny male physique is closer to a woman's physique than a muscleman's.

Doesn't mean in any way that they are more feminine than bigger guys.

Actually it probably makes more sense to think of it as masculine guys more often work towards getting a big musclebod as it's like filling their role as society expects.
