    I recently caught a cold
A head cold with the usual runny nose and stuff

    It's a pain and all
but the Worst part of it is staying away from the gym

    I HATE IT!!
Pisses me off even if its for a couple of days
How many of you guys feel the same way when you get sick?

When I have a cold, it's a struggle for me to get better as soon as possible. Continuous irritation of my airways usually leads to Asthma, and I don't want that. icon_confused.gif

Anyway, get well soon GQjock! icon_biggrin.gif

I just got over one. Probably needed a break from working out, anyway. My weight-lifting snapped right back, but my cycling lost ground - lost some cardio capacity I guess.

I had surgery a week ago the Doctor told me it would be 6 month before I could go back to the gym. icon_sad.gif

I don't get them often anymore. However, when it happens I am pissed too!

It's terrible but I'll still workout but just outside instead.

Bonus: All that coughing gives me ripped abs, with the weight loss too.

I have had many times where I thought I was getting a cold, so I netti-pot my nose (saline in warm water in a mini tea pot that you stick spout in nostril to clear out sinuses). Now I used to just do this, but now I got a bottle of liquid zinc from whole foods and put an eyedropful in the saline and water mixture and rinse out sinuses with that, (same section as neti-pot area). Zinc has been said to ward off colds what a better way than to have it go thru sinuses...
And when I first started doing it when I used to get colds all the time, I was able to breath, well enough to go for runs.

Though I'm sure you have a more stringent and disciplined workout plan than I do, but this is reason why I never plan breaks from the gym because I know that life will eventually force me to take unplanned breaks anyway (via health issues or random obligations that come up.)

And from us, too, get well soon!

I was sick with a flu and a friend, who knew I had just turned 40 said,

"At your age, if you wake up and feel great, it usually means you're coming down with something." Hah! He also said another age related and illness joke,
" If you get sudden bursts of energy, like you want to cycle or work out or swim, just lie down and in a few minutes the feeling will pass."

and last, " Now when you roll over in bed it'll take a few seconds for your face to catch up." I laughed like hell.
