Jonathan Merritt, the son of famous evangelist James Merritt, has become a prominent evangelical blogger, writing for, among others, USA Today and The Atlantic (where he most recently wrote about his support of Chick-fil-A). Turns out he's, as Queerty puts it, also "a deeply conflicted gay man" who just got busted for canoodling with gay blogger Azariah Southworth.

Usually, the ones who scream the loudest against homosexuality, are, themselves, hiding in the closet.

Assuming Tebow is gay:

Y'know, it would be awesome if Tebow would come out of the closet himself. He could be an example to MANY gay teens who happen to live in Christian homes. They could all think "Hey, this Tebow guy is a great role model and a follower of Christ, and he also happens to be gay! I don't think he's any less of a person in God's eyes." That would be so great of an encouragement to them...

But I'm dreaming, of course.

Fortunately for us their muffled sex screams can be heard outside of that closet exposing their hypocrisy.

Yeah, Azariah Southworth is easy on the eyes.

He used to host a christian program on TV, now he blogs.

His blog entry about Jonathan (Azariah's), is very interesting, and much needed. I think the two communities have been at war with one another for so long, it's time for apologies, a truce and to try and find some understanding.

I'm the son of a Christian pastor, though not nearly as notable a one, however, I find it intriguing that so many of us are gay. Perhaps this is fate, or God, or whatever that is leading us all to a point of understanding. It's forcing the church to face itself and to stop seeing the world in black and white. Trying to force them to learn embrace those areas of our life that are unalterable, and focus on working on the areas we can change, to live our lives with greater compassion, honesty and love.

Right?

The conservaposse is the reason gays don't have equal rights yet. They're the only people voting against us.
