    I wouldn't have expected Vietnam to be the first Asian country to legalize gay marriage. But it's from the least expected that makes the biggest impact, I suppose.
    If it happens, it'll be a huge step forward for Asia.

    i dont think its gonna be that bit a step forward for Asia as a whole, Nepal has been talking about introducing gay marriage for a while and I think they have allowed gay marriages (I'm pretty sure it was a religious Hindu ceremony) to be conducted but I don't know if they were legally binding contracts. Nepal's got a gay MP too.

    I was surprised too to see local mainstream medias are now talking about this seriously. But i do think it will take a long while, the conservative culture is still not very accepting, but it's more and more gay-friendly nowadays. I would be more than happy to see this fantasy finally come true.
