I'm voting for Obama! I don't think he's flawless, but I think he has the right ideas for the economy and foreign policy (and I speak as an economist). I admit he could have done better on health care.

"joking" because you and I disagree? So you can't be happy with just disagreeing ? And then you wonder why I support Romney? Although he’s a bit on the liberal side of things for me?

Oh, Romney! Because I''m looking for someone with no independent thought in his head, no contact with the great majority of working people, a vast fortune to insulate himself and his family from reality, and who is in the pocket of fellow zillionaires. Oh - and with a feeling for delicate, nuanced foreign policy. And who would sell his soul for the job.

    Seems like a no-brainer!

Yes, plus a tax dodger, possibly with hidden illegal overseas assets, a corporate raider who likes to fire people and ship their US jobs overseas. Someone with no foreign policy experience who trips all over the world stage and insults our most important ally, as we saw during his disastrous Olympic trip. And who virtually promised Israel that the US will attack Iran during a Romney Presidency.

Yep, choosing Romney is definitely a no-brainer for those with no brains. icon_razz.gif

It's actually a no-brainer for those with brains too. If you look at Obama's positions, he doesn't just want to redistribute wealth in the US, but internationally in his one world concept. His various positions, statements, and autobiography show he wants US wealth transferred to other countries, one of the main reasons he supported the UN Law of the Seas treaty.* Also note his unilateral concessions to the Russians and his promise to them to be even more flexible in the future. Your points are subject to different interpretations, but pale when compared to someone whose ideology motivates them to weaken the US.

    * Yes, I know military folks also supported the treaty for military reasons. Obama supported it for its wealth redistribution features.

I don't just object to Romney as a gay man, but as an economist. What laypeople fail to understand is that in 2008-2009 the financial system was on the verge of collapse. Banks not only were too afraid to loan to businesses (let alone individuals!),but they even refused to loan money to other banks! Similarly, every insurance company was on the verge of bankruptcy because they held large quantities of bank paper in addition to CDOs and securitised debt that was untradeable. By continuing TARP and TARF, plus adding a stimulus,Obama literally prevented GD2 (a second version of the Great depression that was widely considered in the business press). Oh, AND he got bin Laden! Long story short, he has my vote.

There are economists who disagree with your assessment.

    Obama!!

“This is a president also who is attempting to pave the way for same-sex marriage in our nation by refusing through his attorney general to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. I will defend that Act and I will also defend marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.”

There are also surgeons who puncture the wrong body part. Frankly, they aren't the guys to listen to!

First, I believe that the article you cite was on the Opinion Page.

Second, even if the far right monetarists who make the argument about the stimulus are correct about the merits of the stimulus, that in no way invalidates Obama's saving the economy from collapse by continuing TARP and TARF! Nor does it show that the extra regulations Obama wants for the financial industry are unnecessary. Rather, the fact that Bush's policies led to Dow 6,500 (now 13,000) and chaos demonstrates how necessary change is.

On the foreign policy front, Obama got bin laden.

Lastly, I suspect that Obama is MUCH more sympathetic to gays than Norman Mitt, who's only openly gay campaign worker resigned.

I'll be voting for Obama, because he is far less subservient to 'Paymasters' than Romney is. Romney's Sugar Daddies and Neo Con backers are hell bent on taking us to war. Worse still are the groups backing Romney that will repeat the Bush policies that will only sink the US into a further depressed economy.

Romney's backers have the same answers, end the Social Safety net and increase the Military for more worldwide interventionist policies that to large degree got us in this mess in the first place. WHERE ARE THE JOBS FROM THEIR TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH AND SPEND ON MILITARY POLICIES ?

VOTE FOR OBAMA AND DEMOCRATS TO END THIS CYCLE

Well I am Canadian, but I suppose if given the choice I would vote Obama.

Largely as a lesser of two evils but still a much better option in my mind.

Tax dodger? Nope. But your alcohol-addled mind believes anything Harry Reid says. Now if you want to talk tax dodgers, there's disgraced Democrat Charlie Rangel who was kicked out of his position as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee for tax evasion.

Or perhaps you're more of a fan of the Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and his particular brand of tax evasion?

And that statement is designed to do what? Nothing but insult any RJ member reading what you wrote who is not going to vote for Obama.

You must be very proud of yourself - you've proven you can type insulting, infantile things on a computer attached to the internet. Bravo!

And then block anyone and everyone who would happen to disagree with him. Now that's balls!

I think it's pretty obvious on here who would vote for who...

What would be more interesting is if people explained what the other candidate could do to get them to vote for them.
