What will your attire be? Coat & tie? Shirt sleeves?

I like a thin case with a long-sleeve dress shirt, preferably a tank watch (rectangular case). Those look very adult, understated, elegant & classy. You don't need a lot of information on your wrist, that's what you have a smartphone for, so keep the dial simple, just the time and date, easy to read at a quick glance.

A leather band strikes the midpoint between evening formal and sports wear. A thin metal mesh can also work with a suit, or a link band if not too bulky. Expansion bands are strictly verboten.

What I do not recommend is a thick sports watch, or anything plastic. Metal or leather is all you should wear in a professional environment. And my personal taste frowns on the flashy or gimmicky; I prefer the quiet understated.

A leather band should match your belt & shoes, either black or brown, one of each. Likewise have silver or gold cases, to match your other accessories & jewelry, like rings & belt buckles, pens, and cuff links, too, though those are mostly for the evening now, seldom seen in daytime.
