Let's not get too into something tacky. I'd be curious what you'd like in your gym if money and space was not an issue.

It can be the basics you'd want in a gym. Or it can be creative, the ultimate gym.

Variety. I'd love a place that has lap pools, free weights, climbing walls, cardio equipment, classes for kickboxing, yoga, etc.

It would include whatever one needed to do a great CrossFit workout, plus strongman stuff -- sled push/pull, anaconda ropes, etc. Also kettlebells, TRX training equipment, and boxing facilities and equipment.

A gym with fountains all over (not drinking). I like exercising near running water because it calms me down and keeps me focused. Also, it should have a lot of plants to help keep the air clean (I hate the smell of sweat). It would have any machine that I'd consider useful icon_smile.gif

Actually, someone took me to a gym like that once, in silicon valley. The fountains were supposed to be for "white noise" so that people couldn't listen in on your conversation. Allegedly all kinds of sensitive business deals and technical discussion going on in there.

Hot naked and willing studs everywhere.

No need to "cruise" cause touching and stuff is totally allowed in this gym.

Oh yeah, and it'll have all free weights with a dip and pull-up machine.

Oh wait, I just described my home gym. icon_cool.gif

Hardcore weightlifting equipment- multiple squat racks, multiple bench press machines, a huge set of dumbbells (going up to 200 lbs, but 150 is fine), a tractor tire or two and other strongman work out equipment, a juice bar, a sauna (wet and dry), a hot tub, a luxurious locker room (why not? Lifetime fitness kinda spoiled me) and probably some other things off the top of my head that would be nice.

Free weights, cables, kettleballs, Hammer Strength (only) machines, quality cardio equipment, a bunch of TVs showing a variety of different sports, good music, and absolutely no people around. I don't want people messing up my perfect gym.

I would like my gym to have a variety of equipment. It is always lacking some major equipment that people try to make up for, or only one of what lots of people are waiting for. Equipment repaired timely. I like space, not cramped gyms with low ceilings. A good place to do stretches and other exercises, with a good clean carpet floor. Clean gym including locker room, not run down or smelly. Air conditioning or heat that works. Friendly staff and courteous members.

To be pickier, I personally would like the TV's to go. They are all places you look at my gym. It hard not to look at them if you try. It takes your attention away, and who is going to what a TV show while you are working out? I like the Olympics on TV at the gym. It's only on for a couple of weeks each 4 years. Super picky, I wish they'd put the cardio machines or anything that beeps loud in an area that is soundproof. I said ultimate gym, lol, money no factor. The machines beep literally constantly and it sounds like you are in some kind of strange place while you are trying to concentrate or just take a break. Or put them in another room so you can't hear it.

Staff and members that stick to a policy of no harassment of or disrespect for gay people. People warned or permanently kicked out for making the gym not a safe and comfortable place for gay people.

    Money no issue?

Clean cloth towels all over for members to use. A staff that takes care of this.

I would like a place you could go to cool down and just relax. I'm saying a good comfortable floor to lay on, with a lot of space, long couches or chairs. Spa if you wish.

Good staff of masseurs who will give all members unlimited free massages, each time you work if you wish. That may require a whole building. lol. Why not?

Juice, drinks, shakes, snack bar, cafe and restaurant with good food and meals for all sorts of diets or what you wish. Nutrition is important and so is timing. This includes providing a variety of foods prepared how a member wants it. All organic. If a member wants an unusual food, they will have it or order it for each member. It could be attached to a natural foods store.

Very nice equipment, pool, etc..., really cold temperature rooms, hot shirtless guys carrying towels around for use, hot guys making protein shakes and snacks, hot guys that clean the equipment after each person, am I missing anything? Hmm maybe located by the beach with lots of windows for a lovely view. Oh maybe gay guys only, free personal trainers..

Similar to what you wrote, I thought of staff on the floors whose job is to help out members if they want a spotter, or how to use a machine, or to watch out for people using machines dangerously. I could get a lot more from my work outs if I had a good spotter who knew what he was doing. I am saying hiring staff just for this who will have their chair or walk around so you get a spot without waiting. They should be trained in working out. Some should be really strong. They could be trainers and give free training. They don't bother you are get in your way, though are there immediately as you ask.

A beach would be really good or make a beach in the gym. An architect could design a gym facility so it flows together with the rest of the gym.

I would like to work out shirtless.

Three way mirrors so you can see what you back looks like.

Lol. I often feel the same way. I mean, it's nice to have guys around for visual inspiration, but some of them can get so obnoxious. The gym seems to be the place where guys have to perform themselves loudly. And sometimes I feel left out of the loop, and distracted by the noise.

I know what your saying. It just take one guy or a group of two or three. There is one older man that makes sure everyone in the gym hears him talking and laughing. My gym is not that small and it is loud and you can still hear him.

But to be honest, it's as much the women making lots of noises. Much louder than that older man. They suddenly shout to each other across a large gym floor and right next to people trying to concentrate. They also join all the free classes, just a couple of women, and it multiplies their rowdiness and screaming, for a whole hour of the class done throughout the work out floor, so you can't get away from it.

My dream gym would be like the Biggest Loser compound. Regular indoor gym with the usual equipment, and then the great outdoors for running trails, drills, obstacle courses, etc.
