Does anyone else, when they're looking at guy's pics here, besides, you know, looking at them because the guy is cute or hot or interesting or whatever, do you ever find yourself thinking things like, "Oh my, that's a hell of a view from his living room" or "I'd like that color of wall/type of tile in my bathroom" or "I'm getting a woodie dreaming of a kitchen like that" or "he looks hot on that bed, but that bed would make anyone look gorgeous."

Or, to the other end of the spectrum, "couldn't he pick things up a bit before that picture was taken?" or maybe, "that messy dorm room kinda turns me on"???

Yeah, RealJock Architectural Digest. I'd buy it.

Y'know... I think the Stadium seats should be repainted baby blue gradually darkening to navy blue for the top seats. A dull boring blue just doesn't cut it, especially with the minty green newly mown grass. Whaddya think? icon_wink.gif

Hehe...there's a whole site devoted to this. Do a Google search for "lurid digs". Warning: unflattering nude photos and shockingly ugly couches await you.

No, I am a failure as a gay man, intereior decorations do not interest me one iota. I could live in a cabin in the woods with the simplest of furnishings, my partner, and a dog, and be perfectly happy. As long as I had high-speed internet so I could still log into RJ!

I look at photo backgrounds all the time. I'm an architect, so I'm ALWAYS looking at that stuff (while out, on tv, movies, pictures, books, magazines, etc...). It's what I do.

But, I'll also look at photo backgrounds to try and get a sense of the person in the picture as well. I know it's odd for this site, but I try to get to know the people for more than just their bodies. And, the surroundings of their photos in addition to the profile text can give a glimpse into that sometimes.

Yes, as a photographer I too glean much about a person from observing the background in their pix and add it to info from the profile and how they look.

Definitely! I was looking at someone's profile yesterday - don't recall whose - and I noticed a framed cover from Time Magazine and wanted to ask the signficance.

Why thank you. I have to say, 90% of the artwork in my condo is black and white architecture shots. ha ha! The other 10% is framed Cirque du Soleil adverts. icon_smile.gif

Two things I find interesting about RJ pictures:

    1. How many guys have only one or two pictures of themselves... and BAD ones at that! Spend a few dollars, buy a digital camera and have a friend take some good shots of you.

    2. How many guys take pictures of themselves in the bathroom mirror or on their computer webcam. Both of these are BAD ideas. Those pics never look very good.

I'm always amazed at the Obituary pictures you see in the newspaper. I've told my partner that if something ever happens to me, he better damn well select the best possible pictures for my obit, otherwise, I will come back and haunt his ass forever! LOL

LOL! This is sooo gay, but I totally find myself doing this. I see it more on Big Muscle Bears.com than here, bears, i've found usually do have impeccable taste in home interiors. You wouldn't think that. I often joke and ask them if I can date that bed, cradenza, or bed side lamp featured in the picture. They always laugh, but ittle do they know I'm totally serious. COMale is my RJ crush, first time I saw his photo, I found the man very attractive. I was equally attracted to his green kitchen.

Yes, I often see a photo and think, "Those clothes would look good on my bedroom floor!"

Sometimes I do think "ouch" that furniture is bad. Or really kitsch or plain nasty. Or I think, "couldn't you have had a clear up before you took that picture". Klatty bitch.

"Minty green" LOL. I love this guy.

As to the OP -- I'm in there with you. I think my long-time fascination with interior design is one of my "I'm A Big Homo" attributes. When I was 10 years old, my mom turned over the design of our kitchen remodel to me. To this day, she asks my advice on all things design, including how exactly a particular knick knack should be placed. All this, and she was still completely surprised when I came out to her. Never suspected. I love that woman.

Your messy bedroom comments rang a bell. I have this weird thing where if the bedroom is slightly to moderately messy, it's a turnoff; but if it looks like a homeless encampment, with a bare mattress, dirty underwear everywhere, some sort of jockish brick-a-brack (weights, skis, hockey sticks, etc.), I'm kinda turned on. I prefer not to dwell on what this means for me, psychologically speaking.

PS, late edit: To GG -- I too, think that bears usually have the best taste. I'm currently collecting data for a double blind longitudinal study on that. Publication due sometime in the Fall of 2019.

Good looks last an evening (with excellent lighting solutions) but bad taste is forever.

pics taken with a good back ground def look good
much better over for instance the famous in the mirror bathroom shot
it def distracts and yes i will look at the place
same with bedrooms or livingrooms for that matter
there often is to much to draw your attension away from the person
