I was thinking about this last night...it'll never make sense to me why people could dislike or hate Jews. There are people out there who think that they're in some sort of gigantic conspiracy to take over the world? It's just utterly ridiculous to comprehend. The diaspora is pretty widespread and it's not like all Jews know one another. Is it a misunderstanding of the "chosen lot" where they are perceived to be superior when in fact they're just under the covenant of demonstrating how to live a morally good life? Is it that they're thought to be rich and greedy? A lot of Polish and Russian Jews from the 17th to the end of the 19th Century were quite poor, but still suffered the pogroms and so many traveled to America to try to make a decent living and escape the violence. And the racial concept is even more absurd. Because people can convert to Judaism (although it's pretty uncommon). What is it that people could feel so threatened by?
