Did he say anything about quitting or hiding his profile?

I enjoyed his posts. He seemed to try and understand the complexities of the world and put them in simple thoughts. Even his run-on sentences kind of captured his simplicity.

He seemed to take a political position, but never strident, more just asking questions. I can't imagine he did anything to get himself booted off the forum. He didn't post too much to be considered spamming, and I never saw him abusive towards others.

I remember a few said he was a sock account but I never saw any evidence of that. I sure hope the Admin did not respond to a few people making that claim if they did not have solid evidence. I hope we don't have the world of Harry Reid here where you can just make unsubstantiated claims which are assumed true. by some.

    Anyone know what really happened?

I think he got frustrated by all of the remarks that went over his head. A lot of people on here tried to hold his hand, but he kept only seeing the negative side. He didn't seem to understand that most of the banter on here needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

I hope he returns, because I like him too. We'll just have to wait until he gets bored, or reads something in the paper that confuses him.

P.S. Socal, would you miss me if I disappeared? Wait--don't answer that! icon_wink.gif

He was exposed via google image search as a sock account. The run-on sentences that said nothing were an interesting method of trolling, though.

This seems to happen all too often now...

    Yeah, whatever you say.

For others that may be curious, here's a review of what happened:

Interesting. I was never motivated to look at that. And to that "Yeah, whatever you say" comment is supposed to mean. You suggesting the sock was mine? My posts in my account are blunt enough. Why would I need a soft spoken sock?

There's another sock that is still active that uses an image that was in his main main account profile some time ago. Maybe he thought it had expired from the google cache or was oblivious to the other caches that exist. Always interesting.

No, that's the world of Fox News, conservative radio talk shows, and Republican neo-McCarthyites like Michele Bachmann.

And I think you're gonna find that Reid's comments are not assumption, as more of the legitimate news media investigate the Romney tax mess, and others with inside knowledge are heard. So a poor example to use to illustrate your point about RJ.

Given the play about the Obama 2016 movie and the videos of the service members who feel the Obama Team was trying to disenfranchise their votes in Ohio, Obama and supporters will have enough to worry about. The pct Romney paid on his taxes will be well off the front page.

Not suggesting the sock was yours, I know who it was. The idea that you have no idea about what happened or who was behind the sock, on the other hand, that it was I find difficult to believe.

You can believe what you want. I didn't see that other thread about the similarity in wording between Gordon and what was it Couture until the link was posted in this thread. My suspicions are selective. If someone is mildly amusing or not offensive to me, I don't tend to question it. But when other socks take a high profile and are controversial, people do tend to investigate.

And once again you refer to a phony Fox News story, which you raised in another thread and were refuted there. Maybe your luck will change here.

Ohio Republicans disenfranchised some of their own civilian voters by reducing early voting, but retained it for military only. Democrats say that's unfair, and want ALL early voting restored. NOT to limit voting for the military, which is your lie you take direct from Fox.

Military groups are opposed because they fear if the courts rule for fairness across the board the result might be all Ohio voters must lose early voting opportunities. But the courts could also restore the status quo, for both civilians AND military, which the Dems want.

It was the Republicans who made the early voting change and opened this can of worms, not the Democrats. But we see this pattern of restricting voting all across the US, and none of it originates with Democrats.
