Just watched this for the second time.

The first time, I was all caught up in the preposterousness of the whole premise.
The second time I actually watched it. What a great movie!

Great cinematography, great acting. And of course, it doesn't matter whether or not Chuck Berris actually did these things. The United States did these things, and many stranger and worse, and more wonderful things. And of course the ultimate irony is that descendants of "the gong show" are still the most popular crap on TV.

Right now, I'd nominate this as a Very Important Work of Art. However, it has been a Very Hot Day, and I have consumed a great quantity of fluid. Much of which has had ethanol in it. Plus I like seeing those cars that were around when I was a kid.

Anyway. Watch this again.
