That would be great if it was, but who is going to replace him in the house? We need him there.

He should pick a solid conservative like Ryan.

Rubio is probably a front-runner but has a "natural born citizen" issue.

The same media which is blind, deaf, and dumb about Obama's "natural born citizen" status, would make it a 24x7 issue for any conservative.

As I said months ago, Rubio was my pick, he is a great speaker and latino leader and would crush Biden and for that matter Obama in any debate. I hope Ryan stays right where he is. He will be more important as speaker of the house. The only problem I know is that Ryan wants to be president but he said now was not the time for him. I fear if he doesnt get the VP he may never get the chance to be president. Romney and Rubio will be in office for 8 years then Rubio will be elected after Romney as the first latino president. Seems like a logical scenerio.

Ryan would be an excellent pick -- for increasing Obama's chances.
Ryan would be toxic in a general election, because he has repeatedly called for phasing out Medicare.. do you think that will come up in the debates?

He'd probably get more votes by choosing Satan.

At least Satan has biblical influence, and more morals than Romney.

Dear Lord please let him pick Ryan or Rubio instead of Portman, McDonnell, Jindal, or Pawlenty. Please please please...

jockfever: If the voters want hacks who fool them into thinking that programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are sustainable, they deserve what they'll get, i.e., a deferred, bigger catastrophe.

For informed voters, having the smarts and courage to offer alternatives now is evidence of real, much-needed leadership.

Team Obama will be hammering on the "Kill Grandma" meme if he did that.

Plus, he's better in the House than being the President's pet.

Fascinating to see the gay Republican lapdogs speculating on who will be deputy loser-in-chief. Clearly their sweetheart Condi wanted nothing to do with this unholy mess.

It looks like the awful selection is complete.. an appeal to the right wing for their support and votes. Fortunately, like last time, it won't work.

his choice may win WI for Romney, but it'll lose him FL and MI, and probably MN, NV, OH, PA and VT.

Romney just lost the election. His campaign has grossly miscalculated by assuming that - despite evidence to the contrary - that Obama won't expose Ryan for being the vicious pro-oligarch class warrior that his is.
