During Wednesday morning's live satellite radio broadcast, Stern called on his fans to boycott the fast food chain because of the festering controversy about their stance against same sex marriage.

Stern first weighed in on the Chick-Fil-A controversy last week, calling the company "scumbags," but now the King of All Media has gone one step further

“People are missing the point on Chick-Fil-A. I don’t really care what the political beliefs are of an organization…When you’re in business, you don’t want to turn off anybody. It’s not the way to do business, cause while I’m not gay, I do support gay marriage and I will not go to Chick-Fil-A now, just because I’ve heard that the owner has made a statement on behalf of Chick-Fil-A that they’re for ‘family values’—whatever the fuck that means. Talk to all the kids who are completely ignored and don’t have homes. Ask them where they’d rather be…Because really what the guy from Chick-Fil-A is saying is: ‘Oh sure, anybody can eat here, but our money and our beliefs are that anyone who wants to be married who is gay is wrong. Now that’s a pompous statement for a guy who makes chicken for a living. That’s a pompous statement for anybody to make…He knows how to make chicken—that’s it. And he ain’t even making healthy chicken. He’s making some shit that’s going to clog you’re f***ing arteries and kill you. He’s essentially poisoning you, but HE’S for ‘family values’…It’s a dumb way to do business because I’m turned off to this company. I buy a lot of products, but I don’t know their political leanings and I don’t care. I don’t want to know. Don’t come out as a corporation against anybody. OK, if you want to come out against Hitler, I’ll back you on that. But, just keep your mouths shut. No one asked your opinion. And I would call on my listeners to boycott Chick-Fil-A.”

This isn't the first time Howard Stern has taken a stand for gay rights. Stern threatened to start a boycott of JC Penney if the succumbed to pressure to fire Ellen Degeneres as their spokeswoman because she is gay. Degeneres and Stern have since become friends.

    Stern continued:

“No one’s saying they don’t have the right to say it…But I don’t know what Kentucky Fried Chicken says about gay marriage…shut you’re f***ing mouth. Maybe you’re wrong….Like all these straight families are doing such a great job…While I’m no fan of McDonald's, at least I don’t have Ronald McDonald telling me where he sticks his d**k…For all I know he could be f***ing Grimace or Hamburglar…They’re smart over at McDonald’s. They don’t open their mouth.”

Other celebrities who have spoken out against Chick-Fil-A include Roseanne Barr, Roger Ebert, Lance Bass and Jennifer Coolidge.

Now I have a mental image of Ronald McDonald fucking the Hamburgular, thanks Howard! But he hit the nail on the head! Four for you Howard, remain flawless ♥

Response from right-wing self loathing gays: Clearly, Howard Stern is an intolerant liberal activist bullying Dan Cathy for just having an opinion and trying to deny Chick-fil-A free speech. How dare anybody speak out on behalf of freedom and equality. A bunch of bigots standing in line to eat chicken means the left is going to lose on this expansion of civil rights. Besides, it's all gay people's fault they can't get married because some queens go to bathhouses and dress in drag which reflects badly on gays and means gays don't deserve freedom and equality or something. Howard should just tolerate Dan Cathy donating to groups who support the killing of gays, because that's how civil rights battles like the fight against skavery or for suffrage or against segregation were won: by oppressed people tolerating the actions of those that actively deny equality to others.

Don't bother conservatives, I got it all covered.

    My two cents:

Chik Fil A made buckets of money on "Appreciation Day." But this "win" for them was akin to winning a battle. They will lose the war.

Either they get their PR debacle under wraps or they will become next year's Quizno's.

Howard Stern is awesome, hilarious, and an honest-to-God gay rights hero. He has a huge audience of regular Joe straight dudes and is unabashedly pro gay on his show without being preachy and boring about it.

Yay Howard. Haven't really listened to Stern since he left the public air waves for the private ones of Sirus Radio. He is right they should stick to cooking chicken instead of preaching hate in society.

And this isn't about free speech either. We don't have the right to yell fire in a crowded theatre so why would Chick-Fil-A think it is okay to support a divisive policy which can inspire crimes against society by disturbed persons. There are so many deranged people in our culture as is why egg them on. So, if one of them attacks a Gay person is Chick-Fil-A liable because of their public position against gays.

Should Chick-Fil-A leadership be on the FBI target list as a white supremacist organization? They are from the south. KKK has taken many other forms in the past.

Freedom of religion or speech is not infringed on by others expressing their dislike for a company and its politics or by boycotting the company.

Howard Stern is a doll! The man has a vast humane streak running through his soul.

BTW, this is Ken of KenandBarbie. I bonked Babs on the noggin and she's out like a light and so I used her laptop to logon.

Krankheit saidHoward Stern used to be quite the right-winger----a big supporter of former Senator Alfonse D'Amato, one of the worst of the worst back in the day---and was profoundly uncomfortable around teh gayz.

Wonder what happened to ol' Howard. He seems to have turned into kind of a mensch.

people change their opinions/ideals over time. i'm just glad he changed his for the better it seems.

Someone needs to ask Cathy if he believes in the biblical "traditional" definition of "property". I'd like to hear his response to that.

"However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way." (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

Don't let Jan Brewer (AZ Governor) know of this. She wants to send foreigners back to their homelands instead of having them do her gardening. icon_razz.gif

I never got the appeal of this guy but then I never got Seinfeld either. I guess they must have their finger on the pulse of something.

Haven't heard Stern in years. This seems toned down from what I remember. But the substance seems about the same. He's arguing that his fans shouldn't support a company, not by convictions, but because they're stupid enough to tell people where they stand? Nice to have the support but it's not exactly a rousing endorcement.

Can't blame an entire religion for the actions of a few!
