I've only eaten there once on a drive to the south a few years ago. I've seen them when traveling elsewhere, but I would not stop at one. This has been a controversy for a couple years, just not as publicized as it is now.

There is one about 15 miles away from me, but it is in the student center of a university and has limited access to the public. I only work a few blocks a way from my house so the answer is the same. It is the only one in the state of Michigan. They have them in California, but the closet one I know of is in Riverside, about 40 miles away from my place in Palm Springs.

I can't answer you question (haven't been in America long enough), but I was wondering what you guys think about this:

There's this idiot on Facebook who thinks he's such a badass for liking this. Ugh.

No and No. Chicken always looked dry, so never had any inclination to try the stuff anyway.

I also hated McDonald's as a child, and even more as an adult.

Saudi Arabia: I will never, ever visit a Gulf State. Nor do I drive a car... so gas question is moot.

Yes, I didn't even know anything about them however so I now refuse to eat there again.

Yes, there's one inside a classroom building on campus.

Not since I found out about this company's unsavory practice... That was 10 years ago.

Plenty of this place around my work and neighboring area...

I even had a chance to hear a commencement speech -- a long drawn out much ado about nothing religious laced garbage.

I have officially request my department not to cater food from them anymore. I used to be tolerant. No more!

    1. Once, when I was in N. Florida for my undergraduate degree, (1990) never knew much about the company I was with friends and just needed something to eat. Plus have never been a fan of fast food.

    2. No -thank goodness.

Once, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I was unaware at the time of their stance. I try to avoid all that fired fast food as a general rule.

When I do chicken icon_wink.gif I like KFC grilled

The only one in Chicago (at this time, at least) is about 8-9 miles from me. I pass it every Saturday on the way to my 12-step meeting.

    My answers:

    1. Never eaten there even once. In fact, had no idea how to even pronounce the name until this scandal erupted.
    2. I pass it almost every day on my way to work, noticing that it has been unusually busy there lately. Hmmmmm, wonder why that is????? icon_rolleyes.gif

Based on your recent posts, I'm wondering why you didn't ask the one question you really want to ask. No fear, I'll ask it for you:

    3) I know I will eat a lot more Chick-fil-A to show support for Dan Cathy. Will you?

    I smell bullshit.

You had no idea how to pronounce Chick-fil-A? Republicans are stupid, but even the most challenged of your kind knows how to pronounce Chick-fil-A. For Christ's sake, it's spelled so that even the most mentally challenged white trash redneck can pronounce it!

Seriously, I rarely eat fast food. Honestly, I was curious as to how many people were really boycotting Chick Fil-A. Based on the responses I'm seeing, most of us rarely (if ever) patronized their restaurants prior to Dan Cathy's remarks. In reality, we're not really boycotting it because his remarks had little to no affect on our eating habits. Instead, we're being more vocal about continuing not to eat there.

But it's nice to see I can add "mind reader" and "internet troll" to your list of talents.

I think it would be funny if gays banded together to make Chick Fil-A their official hang out. We could make out at the tables, propose to each other, have weddings just outside of their establishments (but still on public ground). It'd be the ultimate troll.

No and No. Never ran across the franchises in the Bay Area of Northern California in all those years living in San Francisco and traveling up to Sacramento and so on. I guess they'd invaded a bit by now though, from reports on here and in news coverage on blogs about the Dan Cathy statements and donations to hate groups furor.

I've never heard of the chain in New Mexico...doesn't mean it's not here, but certainly not in Santa Fe.

I love it how you loony libs insist on putting words in people's mouths that they not only never said, but didn't even think. Priceless!

I stopped eating there several years ago when I first found out they were donating to anti-gay organizations. The nearest one is about 3 miles from me. I did eat there occasionally before that.

Oh, one of my best friends and you would have a good laugh over that one. Because, and I swear this is the truth, I pass the place on a daily basis, but never paid it much attention because I really am not a fast food person. But they are always crowded. One day last week we were passing the place and I said to my friend. "What's this Chick-A-Fil place, is it any good"? He laughed and laughed and said "It's Chick-Fil-A". I was just reading the damn name weird I guess, but to this day we joke and call it "Chick-A-Fil now". Sorry, so SUE me!!! icon_wink.gif
