Hey guys, so as a swimmer you probably already know you rock. Our sport only seems to be noticed during the olympics and when the australian come over for the "duel in the pool" event every spring. We train harder, longer and we dont even get the luxury of steady breathing. Tell me what you love about swimming and or your favorite workout.

For me I love the water, being half australian and half american its simply in my nature to be half aquatic. I love the feeling of my arms cutting through the water and my legs pounding out a pace, the rush of the flip turns done with precision, that mix of pain and rush as my lungs burn for air.

    favorite workout... the broken mile

    5 minute warp-up swim

Your second paragraph is quite good, you should consider writing aquatic soft-core porn/romance novels.

I like to complain about the swim. In fact, I just dread the shock of getting in. Once that is over, my swim workouts are the most consistent. Even if I start out bad, I can really get into them.

I will try the broken mile, it sounds rough.

    Man....I miss swimming competitively!

When swimming competitively I loved the workouts at dawn on cold mornings outside, the timed whistles from the crowd during breast stroke when (part of) your torso pierced up and out of the water, the perfectly timed backstroke flip turn, the rush from beating your personal best time (after what seemed like the longest time plateau), the burn in my quads after rocking out a 200 breast

    favorite strokes: breast, butterfly

    favorite workout components:

8 pull, 8 kick, 8 swim warm up

(definitely the) broken mile - although we never maxed out on pushups or squat thrusts

    time drills

Swimming has always been my favorite sport. I first took lessons when I was five years old. I started water polo in high school and played in college. I love this game!

My regular work outs include swimming 1000 yards (20 laps) as well as: squats, deadlifts, presses and pull-ups. I do various abdominal and back exercises. I do full body explosive exercises too - including snatches and cleans and jerks. I also use the medicine balls, as well as running and cycling.

I love water - it exhilarates me - my friends say I'm half-fish!
