Post some of your irrational, funny, cute, or scary superstitions as a child. Anything from scared of the dark to turning into a power ranger is applicable. Let's not criticise anyone, we all did some weird stuff as kids!

    I'll start...

When we were much younger, my brother and I would set traps to catch leprechauns, luring them in with chocolate coins. Never did catch one though...

The bed covers always had to cover my feet, or else monsters would pull me out by them.

yup. used to turn off the bedroom light and leap in a blind panic for the bed because monsters would grab your ankles if you were too slow.

Ha, same here. would also close my eyes before turning off the lights. If I couldn't see the monsters, they couldn't surprise me.

I had to close the blinds or the serial killers would see me and come get me. My Dad of all people started this fear as when I was a little kid he decided it would be funny to scare me in the middle of the night wearing a mask thru the window. Never slept with open blinds again to this very day.

I always slept facing the wall ... If I can't see it, it won't hurt me.

I saw the movie Halloween at too young an age, and I had to sleep with my closet door closed because I was afraid Michael Myers would come out and kill me during the night.

During a thunderstorm I thought you had to have all the house`s doors open or it would be struck by lightning.

For most of my childhood I slept in a compact fetal position because I didn't want to risk anything grabbing a loose appendage. Seems to be a theme with most of the people here.

When I was young my sister told me about MacBeth, and that in it they said anybody born from a Cesarean was not 'born of man'. For a month and a half I was traumatised because I believed I was abnormal and an abomination icon_razz.gif

Hold my breath and make a wish when driving through a tunnel.
I still do it and my friends think I'm crazy.
