Is It Just Me, Or Is There A Sudden Trend To Go After "Straight or Straight Acting Men?"

    Hello There,

Now we have all heard of a website called Craigslist right? If not, you will. Periodically I'm sure like most we like to look at the various ads posted for various "things" in the M4M, Casual Encounter, & Romance section. Not that it's to be taken too seriously but nevertheless is amusing. I'm using "CL" as an example of what I've lately been seeing as well as hearing. Ad after ad of "looking for str8 or str8 acting" men, non fems, masculine, etc" have some gay men in society gotten to a point of being "too gay or flamboyant?" And other gay men are having a disgust or distain to the degree that they are now seeking men who are straight to rub off on? Or has it become apparent that there's a sense of self hatred that is somehow being expressed? Or is it the constant competition of who can out do the next in being the most "bitchy or queen-ish?" What do you think about this beginning hunt for straight men or straight "acting" men trend?

It's not new. It's been there all along. It's just more noticeable now that the naturally-masculine guys are coming out of the closet in droves.

In fact, I said a few years ago that the gay stereotype will change drastically if everyone came out, because in reality, most men don't have many feminine mannerisms.

BTW, this is not a slam against those who do. It's simply a fact.

This is a question which gay men most often ask, and has been answered whenever this issue is raised.

And it will be, answered again, in today's language.

"Gay men do not like to have sex with feminine acting men, even though they secretly like to act feminine themselves."

Thank you, for that insight. It would also compare to my theory that two "bottoms" cannot be in an intimate relationship, and in some cases can barely be friendly in each others company. Thank you for your feedback. :-)

I don't really get it. I know there are some exceptions but in general the gay guys I have met who are 100% comfortable with themselves would never make a statement like that.

Maybe I kind of fit into the category a little but I'm into guys who are comfortable being themselves. Being gay doesn't mean you are a flamer. I think a lot of guys do hold back because they are scared of how they could be perceived. I don't know where the connotations come from. All of the guys I have met who could be called fem or flamer or whatever were still totally guys, into guy things and as sex driven as any other guy.

I have met plenty of straight guys who had a lot of supposedly feminine traits as well which could add a level confusion to what that person is seeking. heh. Are you straight acting if you act like a straight guy who acts like a gay guy?

Agreed.. but if it is their true self.. then it is kind of cute/sexy.. but noo. It seems to be a lot extra to deal with the girly ones.

in certain circumstances, i turn on the sassiness, partly for comic effect, partly because it makes for fun lighthearted banter. maybe that's just my true colors shining through

I agree. They make great bottoms.

I think it's more of a personally preference of what kind of guys a guy likes. It's harder to find a straight acting gay guy, because you think they're straight. It's easy to spot flames, etc. It's nothing new for gay guys wanting guys that would be perceived as being straight in public.

I prefer my femmy boys to "str8" dudes. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm pretty "str8" myself, but I prefer a delicate mannered guy. I consider other "str8" guys like guys I would chill with, not sleep with. Don't be afraid to be what u are. Str8 or femm or whatever, guaranteed there's someone out there who likes it.

Also, it's not really a "new" trend. It's kinda always been like this.
