I loved the collection of essays "Don't Get Too Comfortable". Sad he passed at such a young age. A very funny man.

100 years ago, living till age 47 was nearly unheard of.

He was not young. He was really fucking old.

Fortunately, science and medicine have changed that fact.

Even more fortunately, his legacy shall live on. More people are catching on to the humor of life, and are spreading it daily. icon_biggrin.gif

David Rakoff in "This American Life: The Invisible Made Visible",

"hey watch this", such an awesome video from the live "This American Life" show where he talks about his cancer. Its incredibly funny, honest, sad, and beautiful.

^^^Very funny and at the same time touching video. It is sad to see one of those group of gay writers that found humor through a cynical look at life, Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris, Josh Kilmer-Purcell, and others is no longer with us.

Nearly a year after his death, David Rakoff's last book, "Love, Dishonor, Marry, Die, Cherish, Perish: A Novel" will be released.
